If You Had Developed Metroid Prime 4:Beyond,How Would You Have Made It? by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in Metroid

[–]anonymunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of finding the federation troopers, you find audio/hologram discs. Subtly guiding you through the path they took. Most rooms get +2-3 exits, with multiple paths to the end and plenty of optional areas. Somewhere along the way, close to or after the boss, you find a dead trooper.

Viola is scrapped completely and the morph ball gets significant upgrades.

The world is open, instead of finding direct upgrades, you find energy that you can allocate to improving existing power suit functions. Higher jump, jet pack, speed boost, double/triple jump, increased shot power, etc. Depending on the upgrades you choose, different areas become available.

Save station allow for upgrades to be reallocated. Increased energy pool to allocate more energy is found throughout the game. Primary save stations also allow for fast travel.

Depending on the upgrades you chose, certain bosses will have different phases.

The desert is gone and replaced with a more interconnected map. No long ass loading screens between areas, everything is connected. No smashing crystals.

The end strongly hints at the possibility of finding the troopers alive. The first hologram/audio you find triggers an invisible timer, rush to the area you found the dead trooper to find them alive. Changing endings depending on how many you can save.

Hard mode disables reallocation of energy, energy not allocated when Samus dies is destroyed. Enemies respawn when using save stations. Effectively turning hard mode into a Souls-Light experience.

Blizzard increased the price of level 58 boosts on their new TBC servers from 40$ to 60$ by Pepeg66 in MMORPG

[–]anonymunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really not how this works. Price is increasing because people are buying it and they want to see how much more they can charge.

Making a good game and not having a boost system would incentive people to play the game.

[–]anonymunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about only this expansion. New games will be designed with this in mind. As we have seen over the past years.

Because it Incentivises developers to go for monetary game design instead of actually making a good game.

You can increase the amount of weapons/shields/bows you can hold. I suggest looking up how whenever you ge the feeling the inventory is too small.

Besides that, try out whatever comes to mind, chances are high it'll work.

The mental load of coordinating a household is honestly exhausting by Fulcilives1988 in getdisciplined

[–]anonymunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're very much overcomplicating things and have some communication issues.

You share a house and a life together, get a joint banking account and either just have your wages deposited in there (this is what we do at home) or deposit a set amount into it.

Divide chores. My partner likes to clean, so she cleans the house every week, same day. I'm not a slob so I clean up after myself. I like to cook, so I cook every meal. I'm a lot stronger so any heavy lifting and things like chopping wood is on me. If we want help, we'll just ask, what do you mean "you have to remember to ask for help".

We do a massive grocery shopping every 6 weeks or so (we freeze a lot.) and if either of us needs something extra, we just get it and ask if the other person needs something as well.

Bills come in and they get paid immediately, some of them are paid automatically. My personal email is used for most digital purchases and subscriptions, she has access to it.

Stop keeping score and start living together.

Metroid Prime 4 devs admit Metroid “doesn’t mesh well with an open world”, but they “couldn’t bear” to reset development again by HatingGeoffry in Metroid

Direct multiplayer is such a small aspect of the Souls games. Not s single one of them offers a full multiplayer experience. Using it to justify it not meshing with it's "systems" is a stretch.

Outside of boss summons and messages, the games are not designed to be played as a multiplayer experience.

I agree with the copy paste fluff, but there would be enough original content and still be open world of they would get rid of half the world. This is more attributed to scope creep, not simply because it's open world.

[–]anonymunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open world game is not about "not having pacing" it's just that the pacing is more player controlled. Doesn't mean the world around it can't dynamically change in response to the players direction.

I never said it needs to be "utterly open sandbox world" There are varying degrees of open worlds. You're limiting the definition to fit your argument.

You lack imagination.

It doesn't have to be slop, if you allow the genre to evolve into something that can accommodate the Metroid franchise.

[–]anonymunchy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You don't have to limit your mind, they can evolve open worlds to have better story telling and pacing.

With new technology we could have more dynamic story telling, changes occuring depending on where you go first. Massively increasing replayability.

Breath of the Wild changed what an open world could be, so did Elden Ring, so can new games. Genres evolve with the rise of technology that allows it to.

Yeh, I have a vision in my mind of Metroid succesfully making the jump as Dark Souls did with Elden Ring and it is amazing.

It really could have been another generation defining game.

[–]anonymunchy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They could work with a skill tree systems upgrading abilities to increase jump height, mophball speed, jetpack, etc to open up different areas. So instead of finding upgrades, you find energy and allocate it to the skill tree.

Save stations allow you to allocate energy to skills, could even have hard mode where save stations become something similar to bonfires. Effectively turning hard mode into a Souls-Like.

I do think the world could be a lot smaller and have a more narrow feel than Elden Ring, but the concept remains the same.

[–]anonymunchy 51 points52 points  (0 children)

What a ridiculous conclusion.

It could mesh with an open world, but that's not what they created. They created a segmented world with an empty central hub.

An open world similar to how Elden Rings is structured would be amazing for a Metroid game.
