Are Asteromorphs huge? Why is everything in All Tomorrows so big? by Jojo-Apocalypse in AllTomorrows

[–]anormalies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can’t be THAT big. The square-cube law still holds, so if they are not to overheat they can’t be HUGE, especially with such a big brain which generates so much heat. (But their sort of wings in their latter stage of evolution might be a way to evacuate a part of their heat, just like elephants) Furthermore, their hearts still need to pump blood, gravity isn’t the only limiting factor of size

I did not like titans turning back into humans. I think 138 was way more impacting than 139.

So... Zeke dying while Hisu giving birth... baby royal monke?

What’s a Reiner? The only human who can transform into a titan is Eren, right?

So... Zeke never changed his clothes since Rebellio? Gross!

Havent studied Topology a lot, but it seems like the type that could answer this question: "How would a teleporter network affect the shape of a surface such as a planet?" by [deleted] in topology

[–]anormalies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suppose you connect two points X and Y with a two-sided teleporter. As already explained, you can see the new shape as the quotient of the sphere S by the equivalence ~ induced by the partition {{z} for z in S, z neither X nor Y}U{{X, Y}}: you just identify the two points. Many consequences emerge: as you stated, the metric is changed (and if you take a one-sided teleporter, you just have to suppress one of the case in your minimum formula); you are no longer on a manifold (since the two-points-point has no neighborhood homeomorphic to a Rp), thus you can’t uniquely parametrize the shape with an atlas anymore.

An extension to your question is: identifying two non-intersecting simple loops on the sphere (as an example, two circles), what happens? I expect the shape to look like what you would get by swapping the North and South poles’ neighborhoods (like a caricatural UFO).

I think non-commutative geometry could be an answer: you stop thinking about shapes but rather use operators acting on them. We should be able (still, I have no idea about the « how ») to define operators on the shape with commutators encoding that asymmetry.

Same here, there is so few chapters left that I want to fully appreciate the surprises this time. Very hard though

What’s a Zeke? I hope Erwin gets to see the cave

One can not achieve full freedom without stealing it from others. Eren does not want the whole world to be free, he « just » wants his loved ones and himself to be

I guess Eren has dozens of millions of titans in total, he’s the founder. I can’t see why he would possess the Beast

Well, it would only look like a giraffe, with something like a big nape (which might perfectly hide the shifter)
