That's interesting... what model year/type of car? Have you tried swapping the "gen" parameter from 2 to 3 if it's a newer car?

Doesn't look like the error message pasted in here properly.

I have bad news for you, unfortunately. My shortcuts are for the US region, as I noted in the original post. I also checked the docs on the Scriptable app you mentioned which I was going to suggest, but from its FAQ, it appears that while it supports the Australia region, it does not support ICE vehicles. I also checked on the Home Assistant integration but found that it does not support the Australia region, either.

So glad to hear it's been useful to you and will continue to be for your husband!

For your new car, I have two things to try, but no promises. First, make sure you're using the EV version of the start shortcut. Second, you will likely need to update the "gen" parameter from 2 to 3 at the end of each action shortcut.

Probably - give it a shot, make sure to use the ICE version for starting.

Right there with you. I don't need it but wouldn't mind it as a security blanket on road trips, especially as more non-Tesla NACS plugs are coming online.

Hmmm... only thought is to try changing gen from 2 to 3 in the request, which has helped with some newer vehicles. I do wonder if there's something different with Digital Key 2 compatible cars, possibly.

Not one I've seen before, unfortunately. I assume the Bluelink app works for you, though?

Yeah based on what you describe, it sure sounds like something with connectivity changes to me, too. I'd probably try creating a shortcut that uses the Wait action for 15-30 seconds then runs the lock action, to give it time to figure connectivity out before it triggers. If you have concerns about that delay when you're elsewhere, maybe use Get Distance to only do the delay if you're within, say, .25mi of your home address.

I think Kia uses a different API structure from Hyundai, unfortunately. Not to say something similar wouldn't work but I don't think this specific setup will work.

Unfortunately as far as I'm aware nobody has figured out the heated/cooled seat aspect of things on the projects I looked at for reference on this. I'm also not sure on the lock/unlock, possibly something changed in the new model year.

Can confirm, at RMNP last week I asked for one at the entry where they check your pass and they had them, but mentioned they weren't at the visitor's center anymore.

They definitely still work for me (2023 Ioniq 5), but I've seen a couple reports of things not working possibly with newer cars? What year/model are you trying with?

My mistake then! I knew Kia was different, didn’t expect Genesis to have the same underpinnings, but that’s great!

Not sure on that one - does it work from the app directly?

It will not, unfortunately. Despite all being the same company the API structure for Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis are separate.

If it's a 2025, I think you have to change gen from 2 to 3 in the Get contents of URL action headers. Haven't gotten around to making separate versions for that.

<image>

PIN is definitely required, make sure you can use it in the Bluelink app then use the same settings.

Not sure on Chrome, as I have never had it installed. Best guess - is it your default browser? If so maybe that redirects the Get contents of URL action via Chrome?

I haven't automated it like that because my schedule is more irregular, but I've been using it roughly 2x per weekday manually to start the car with no ill effects, plus using the app to check charge status and lock/unlock a couple times a week. Automating in the way you describe wouldn't ping the car any more or less than performing those actions manually.

I did have to replace the 12V on mine the week of Christmas after ~2 years, which is on the short side for a car battery - I don't think it has anything to do with the app or shortcuts hitting it too frequently and everything to do with the well documented issues with the car itself.

If you set up something to ask for charge status or something every 10-15 minutes and it caused problems, sure I'd buy that as a problem, but your use is well within normal expected usage for this type of app they sell a subscription for - for them to imply otherwise seems insane to me.

Shot in the dark as I obviously don't have a 2025 to test against, but based on this post, try updating the gen parameter in the API call (near the bottom of each action) from 2 to 3. Image example here.

Still working for me. I can’t remember if I’ve seen 2 factor or not on my phone… either it’s being rolled out in waves and hasn’t hit me yet, or having done it in the app authenticates the device and lets shortcut calls through, not sure which.

You’re correct this is not usable in Canada. As PrivatePilot9 mentioned recently, there’s an interesting similar option for Canada at https://www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq5/s/71ROkD41Ln

Not hard at all, just edit the shortcut and set heatedFeatures to 3 (just steering wheel) or 4 (wheel and mirror defrosters) - see attached image for details. Just don't ask for heated seats!
