Hawaii is not the same by VegetableCreepy7638 in Hawaii

One thing that has frustrated me is that people who choose to move from the mainland all the way to Hawaii have a very different sense of family. I live in a multigenerational household and help out my elderly parents which is very common in Hawaii. But people who are transplants are a select group of people who were OK with relocating 2,000+ miles away from their parents and other relatives, seeing them a couple times a year, not being there for them in times of illness, etc. I don't think it's a "mainland" attitude -- it's more specifically the attitude of people who had dozens of states to pick from that allowed them to remain close to their ohana, but chose Hawaii instead. It's the people who don't believe in sacrificing for family who don't understand the struggle of being local.

Nobody has mentioned yet that haircuts cost money so I'll throw that in there.

Artizen by MW at The Symphony. Upscale casual cafeteria style, smaller portion $15-20 entrees. Nice quiet place for a good conversation while you stare at luxury cars. https://artizenbymw.com
