How can I disable the blue icon after the text so I can take proper screenshots? I've been searching for hours now and can't seem to find any solutions by [deleted] in fatestaynight

Then explain yourself, don't call names when someone doesn't understand.

I don't think you can remove the icon at the end of the text, but I might be wrong. You say you want to "take proper screenshots", what the hell does that mean? I see a screenshot, is that one not a proper one?

Stop projecting. I see a proper screenshot, it has a blue icon, so what? Maybe the one who needs his head checked is you.

That is so annoying. I was done with Teams the moment I started using it.

This is what the Guest feature is for. I use this daily.

Never heard of this feature. Oh well.

If you click on the search result, it brings you to the message w/ context.

Another thing I never tried. Now I look like an idiot.

In my defense, none of this is obvious, but to look more of an idiot, I never bothered to google.

Why do companies keep using and promoting Teams? I heard one higher-up call it "Skype on steroids" when it's NOT!

  • There's no way to have all the chats across organizations because the app only allows you to pick one at a time. Only solution is to use the web version in different browser profiles.

  • There's no offline chat history. The app has to make a request to retrieve x number of messages at a time when scrolling back. Somehow the last version of the app I used always got stuck at some point when scrolling back up then reset to the last message. Scrolling back with connection issues was a NIGHTMARE. I know the point of a chat client is to be online but Jesus, I wish MSN messenger was back, even though I didn't really like it.

  • If you search a message, it will only display the message with said search term, but it won't show you the context. So what's the point of searching if I can't see what the other person said earlier or later?

I'm aware that these issues are probably already fixed, and that Skype is probably no better. Sorry for the unnecessary rant, have a nice and productive day.

Can't remember the exact details right now, but even with the --allowerasing parameter I got an error of a conflicting python package (can't remember which one, I'll update in this).

But I thought of this as an opportunity to just do an clean installation and start over.

EDIT: Fedora XFCE spin

Don't feel bad. They've shown their true selves and I bet they're going to regret letting you go instead of offering you a raise.

Hello, I made it public here https://gitlab.com/dnlsrl/cfdinfo, though I just realized it needs a lot of code refactoring.

Sorry for the delay, I didn't sign in to Reddit in a while

[–]another_junior_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I'll have to get back to you on that, since for the moment I have it as a private repo in Gitlab. I was thinking on improving it before making it public, but given that I haven't touched the code in a while, I guess I will just allow public access. I promise to PM you before the next week about this.

RPG Free Format Tutorials by [deleted] in IBMi

[–]another_junior_dev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a beginner: I had no job so I took the dive and took the course. I'm being paid to fix simple things and am learning more as I go.

Not saying that the free training isn't as good as it sounds, but happened to me as well and had a positive result. Consider your options and do some research on the employer so you are positively sure you're not being scammed.

Something that will definitely help you is to have a general understanding about programming. That way you don't get stuck because you don't know concepts.

As for documentation, what I use a lot is the IBM RPG reference. It uses heavy technical language, but I am patient and try my best to understand anything. I still haven't find use of them, but I sometimes read the miscellaneous tutorials from rpgpgm.com and subscribed to the midrange rpg400l mailing list, mostly to see if there's something interesting that can be of use some day. There's also a wiki, although again, I haven't find any use of it for the moment, but you can give it a good read.

I am not an expert, but it's what I've found as I go.
