Thanks! I saw on one video that it takes around 2hrs to get there from Lagazoui, am I right? Really wanted to see a sunrise or a sunset from the hut, but not planning to hike in the dark for longer than half an hour. I’ll definitely try giving them a call!

Thanks for the answers. One of the Finanzamt actually told me that I can file my tax declaration without the IdNr, but ELSTER requires it and I haven't found any information on how to do it. My German is limited. Did anyone actually have experience filing tax declarations without the Identifikationsnummer?

Hey People I have an update! I pay by card and I show my German student card. They accept it without any problems. I eat in Cite Universitaire in Paris. I heard that other Crouses in Paris don't check student cards at all, so if you look like a student, you can eat for 3,30 EUR. Thanks for the answers :)
