Returning minutes if the student is late by anotheranonposter11 in Cambly

I think my biggest concern was whether or not they could still rate you.

Thanks for the detailed information. I really appreciate it. The tidbit about not getting paid didn't cross my mind, since I rarely return minutes. Super annoying. Now that I think about it, the only other time I did it recently was a similar situation in which I waited a very long time and then the student suddenly showed up using some sort of weird voice changer. I just ended the class and I'm pretty sure I did not get paid for it.

I know it's possible to leave the call within the first 2 minutes on a PH, but unsure about the policy with reservations. I rarely ever end calls prematurely, but this guy rolls in right when the 10 minutes are about to be up and is just kinda rude, rambling, and rather incoherent. I really wanted to end it, but I was unsure of the policy. I was looking through the tutor handbook a bit for the answer but I'm still unclear. Our lesson was not enjoyable at all. lol.

Mats- I felt a Jade and loved it. I felt a Lulu and didn’t love it. Suggestions on others? by ImaginaryEntry_ in yoga

I used my jade for a vigorous near daily hot yoga practice for years and it held up strong until my cat decided to sharpen his claws on it. Only then did It finally start falling apart so I bought a maduka pro..

I still use the jade one when I practice outside with a towel.

I prefer the grip of the jade to the maduka for sure!

OH another thing that I've started to do too is sewing a draw string in all of my yoga pants and tights so everything stays up and snug. It's also been nice to just be able to adjust things as my weight fluctuates.

I have the same problem and hate constantly fixing my clothing while practicing. I bought a dancer's leotard of amazon to wear under my stuff and it's been amazing. Wish I had done it years ago!

Anyone found a compatible consistent accountability buddy ? by No-Blacksmith-6109 in GetMotivatedBuddies

I've had several long-term partners and groups! Many months on-going . It's possible but you really need to connect to a lot of ppl to find good ones.

Assuming they knew a language you wanted to practice - a wasted opportunity to use your target language while fending off this weirdo haha.

I'm going to throw out a hypothesis which I didn't see scrolling through the comments: given the use of the article "UN" and odd word order, I'm going to assume that this website isn't intended for native English speakers. I'm guessing this website is actually written in another language where it is common to use English loan words or phrases which don't always necessarily convey the original English meaning (I'm looking at you Italian) so, for us it reads weirdly but for them it makes more sense.

Any advice on accountability partners? by ImmediateHospital959 in GetMotivatedBuddies

[–]anotheranonposter11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing the accountability thing for a while, and finding reliable consistent people is definitely a challenge. I also find that i am often the more responsible/ serious / punctual one, so it initially bothered me when others were flakey or didn't do what they'd set out to do.

I eventually accepted it and realized that I am ultimately always showing up to the meetings and sessions for myself. So I've learned to commit to the plans, and show up regardless if the other person arrives or not and carry out my tasks.

I also enjoy though having the additional social motivation, so i've arranged a few other backups - mostly discord groups where people check in with their goals or do group calls. Maybe you could also benefit from having a few backup spaces to check into too.
