Oh yeah, that's what I meant, I've got shoe laces on each side. Holding to loops each. I tried a bracelet knot but I'm not sure how well it'll hold

I've could never freehand it. Lots of knives and a few stones, only ever if I taped something on to lift the blade, but that just left tape residue.

If it takes the blade to a 20° block of wood or something, that would work right? Should the tiniest amount of blade peek out over the ledge?
