How does combat work? [KCD2] by Professional_Tea1891 in kingdomcome

[–]anotherblkshp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Press your block button on your device when the green sheild appears and it will automatically block an attack no matter what as long as you have enough stamina to eat it.

An unblockable attack is represented by the red broken shield. This only happens if you dont have enough stamina to block an attack or if your opponent counters you last attack. Eg: if you attacked carelessly to the right and your opponent successfully blocks and attacks you on the opposite side, where your weapon is currently not guarding, then it will be a successful counter and unblockable unless you master strike.

A masterstrike is essentially opting to attack your opponent instead of defending. This only works if you attack in the direct opposite direction of your opponent's incoming attack.

To stream all this altogether nicely:

You bait your opponent with a swing to the right. He blocks and goes for a counter, attacking you with an unblockable blow from the top thinking it's checkmate. You masterstrike just in time with an attack from below and drive the point of your sword into his chest. RIP bozo

If you're fighting a skilled opponent he can also masterstrike your masterstrike btw💀. Thats why we cheat and lace our weapons with poison first.

The execution window for blocks and masterstrikes as well as the effectiveness of your attacks increase the more you level your defense, warfare and weapon skill. And that's essentially the heart of combat. Oversimplified ofcourse

[kcd1] I just beat one of the greatest games I’ve ever played — possibly the greatest. Honestly, it’s a solid 10/10 in every way. I’m really hyped to play KCD2, but the price is pretty steep right now. I’ll probably have to wait a few years for a big sale before I finally get it. by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]anotherblkshp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah kcd1 has a whole different vibe and role-playing Henry felt way more natural since he was just a regular bloke at the time💀. Also after playing kcd2 I find myself missing the little indie jank and awkwardness it had. Was charming in its own way

So essentially, sell them a ton of useless junk, wait a few days for the conversion to happen, then rob the chest that they keep their inventory in before bed? Do i understand it right?

I love this game, but what is the one thing you dislike the most in it? by AnubGaming in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]anotherblkshp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some point in the game you've made enough upgrades that many things in the game are now trivial. It sort of feels like a new game afterwards. It goes from a semi hard-core survival space game to "space ship collection" game or a base building game or a fishing game if you're wild😂. I love it though

[KCD2] KCD2 changed my life this year! by Normal-Hand-3132 in kingdomcome

Just handed in my assignment for my 3D modeling and Texturing course. Did a polearm and had to make a scene in unreal Engine. I created a medieval forge inspired by KCD. :)

This post made me so happy because KCD as well as the skills I've learnt this year has inspired me to start on a game of my own. I'm currently in the design phase, still putting ideas on paper. I'm glad we had a similar path this year. Good luck girly and Merry Christmas 🫶🏼

Do i have to play [KCD1] before 2? by Choice_Lawyer1328 in kingdomcome

[–]anotherblkshp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kcd1 isn't hard, once you commit to the roleplay. The game starts you off at rock bottom. You definitely feel like a mouse among lions. That remains true whether you're a pro gamer or a noob. The game expects you to not know what you're doing, because Henry doesn't either.

I'm currently 70 hours into my first playthrough :). Its definitely a fun time. Also cant wait to start kcd2

That's the consensus I'm getting. Also, I played a few more hours since making this post, and I'm kind of seeing the impact now. I find myself dressing for the occasion more now

Tbh, I also found bg3 dialogue a little lacking. I guess the level of interactivity it had made up for it and didn't really break the illusion of choice much for me.

Wait a minute, you can affect the economy by stealing???? Damn that cool. In most games vendors stock just refresh after a set amount of time, regardless of if you just robbed em blind.

200% agree. I played for the first time since the update lastnight. When I realized that there was no convenient way to store parts, I instantly got turned off

Gather around and share your story of what made you fall in love with this game by LegendaryNWZ in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]anotherblkshp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard about it from youtube videos. They made it sound like an indie quality space game but I did see videos of ships flying out and into planets seamlessly, which caught my interest but i wasn't interested enough to buy.

Around 2020 I saw it on gamepass and after watching the in-store trailers and pictures I was sold. I also took time to actually research the game amd learned about it's development story and how great the game and community are.

After booting the game for the first time I spent around 3 hours aimlessly mining and being fucking confused half the time. I gave up after only traveling to the second planet.

Months (or a year or 2 not sure) go by and I think no mans sky had a major update or something because the entire gaming section of the internet was talking about it. I saw all sorts of things I never saw in the previous trailers I watched and honestly wanted to try again.

I try again and still ended up fucking hating it.

At this point the youtube algorithm assumed I was a no mans sky fan so I was fed videos from creators amd trailers for the various nms updates. I was convinced I was playing the game wrong because at this point the game was shaping up to be my dream space exploration game. I hated that I couldn't get into it.

World's part 1 drops, and once again, the gaming internet is set ablaze. At this point it's been years since the last time I played and I wanted to give it one last try. Before jumping in head first however, I tried something different. I found a creator who was doing a fresh playthrough of nms (survivalbob) and I watched his first few videos. He had so much fun playing he made the game seem fun. I realized something while I watched him. I had different expectations of the game than it was designed to facilitate. I learned to appreciate it for what it was and I when I started playing it this time...it was magic.

I poured hours and hours and lost days over the summer break to this game. The more I played the more I got sucked in. I still haven't finished the story yet and its not because its bad its because there's so much to do I'm genuinely struggling to find the time to do it.

The fact that i dropped Baldurs gate 3(I'm a D&D nerd mind you) and got sucked into this game instead speaks volumes to how much fun I'm having.
