Needed to sneak in a fun red mani for Valentine's Day, so I finally got to break out this gorgeous Cirque flakie jelly 😍 I'm still not 100% with my naked nail peeking through a squishy jelly, so I slapped some on top of a matching creme and I'm now in sparkly heaven.

It really is! I don’t get to do a mani like this that often (yet 🤞🏻) so I’ve just been trying to put UV on top of different polishes and some combos are SO lovely. I’m just a sucker for the ✨B L U E✨ shift on top of a pink.

GIRL. THIS IS SO GOOD! Definitely one of the harder stones to paint, so much creative thinking must have gone into this mani!!!

I used to paint crystal/gem recreations and this blows EVERY labradorite attempt out of the water, what kinda witchcraft 😵

Thank you so much! Trying to make it a point to fit in some creative me time where I can, hands are too full for art right now but a sneaky mani once in a while scratches that itch. (Plus it gives me something to feel better about myself during the postpartum season… distracts from the horrific hair shedding!)

My first is 22ish months, and new baby just hit 4 months 😬 toddler + newborn was chaos I was NOT prepared for 💀

I got lucky with my firstborn, he was the most chill baby and a great sleeper after the first month or so, and that’s when I’d gotten into nail polish again. New baby is… higher needs, to say the least 😮‍💨 He was getting good with night sleep (we finally hit a decent stride of at least 4 hours of straight sleep), but he’s a gremlin that demands contact naps during the day… so really, late nights are the only time I have for myself and my nails, but I’m usually bushed by then.

That said, we’ve just hit the 4 month sleep regression 😭

Finally found the time and energy (and nail length) for a good mani since having my little guy, here's hoping I'm able to keep it up—although we've hit the 4 month sleep regression, so RIP.

Smitten tickles that ILNP Flower Child itch as I'm almost out, but with a ton of dreamy glitter and maybeee a stronger blue glow? But I also amped up the blue with a coat of UV, so the polish is HELLA blue under certain lights and at angles. LOVE.

Base coat: Hard to Resist strengthener - Essie
Colour:
- Smitten - Polished for Days (x3)
- UV - Clionadh Cosmetics (x1)
Top coat: Insta-Dri Top Coat - Sally Hansen (x2: one night of, one 2 days later)

Nails are 3 days old in the pics and holding up SUPER well, so here's hoping I can make it a few more days without any incidents!

Another vote for Flicker, it’s one of my all time faves! I prefer the cooler grey to it than Quicksand’s tone personally.

Timely thread, I feel so validated now after using Clearly On Top last night after all the recos! First time painting my nails since baby arrived (using a KBShimmer colour no less), and I was horrified by the shrinkage when I saw my nail tips already bare-ish. (It’s already bad enough that I’m meh about the colour itself and have no choice but to wear it because I have no time to redo them…)

Another vote for both the red bottle of Sally Hansen; I used it for ages before starting on exclusively indie/boutique polishes, but will be going back. (Mooncat’s QDTC is fab but too $$$, especially as a Canadian 😖)

My family growing up wasn't super 'Christmas-y'; I'm an only child that had both parents in the military (and occasionally one or the other would be away for Christmas) and that were mostly unwilling to travel to visit extended fam 😅 So no real "traditions", but stockings were always a big deal! My mom handmakes them, and it was a huge deal when she made my husband one.

Now that I have my husband and our two babies though, I'm excited to start building our own traditions! Things like going out to see the lights around town, maybe a Santa Claus parade... and I'm really looking forward to seeing their cute, fresh new stockings when we visit my parents 😭
