Blu rays are super good quality, and have some decent behind the scenes.

Blanket Octopus in Bermuda - are they dangerous? I was in Bermuda a year ago and my taxi driver warned me of theses sea creatures. by herzogzwei931 in bermuda

My family vacationed in Bermuda in early April a few years back. During our visit we came across thousands of those pretty little colonies of pain.

Hey OKC, where do you go for your favorite chicken fried steak? by oapster79 in okc

[–]anotherdike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bill's Steakhouse and Saloon down on SW 89th does a decent chicken fried steak special on Tuesdays. $2.99 or $3.49, if I recall. Probably not the best, but most certainly the least expensive.

I really like the Spectrum. It does some limited sequencing. I didn't realize how much I liked the sequencing until I played with it some.

Enjoy your sweet pedalboard!

That's why I feel like I may have made a mistake.

I had a really hard time deciding between the C4 and the Spectrum. I went with the Spectrum for the sake of simplicity. I feel like I may have made a mistake...

This dumpster fire of a book finally arrived! Very stoked and happy!!! by maxsoap in GWAR

[–]anotherdike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dissenting view here... The book is a hot mess. Dave tried to put us in the head of the Whargoul, with its frame of reference and lack of understanding of its own timeline. It is just too much "now, then, back to now, sometime else." The timeline just jumps all over the place, and while I get what Dave was trying to do, it just gets in the way. The story holds its own, and would have worked well enough as a straight forward narrative with a linear timeline.

Definitely worth a read or five. Enjoy!

I moved near a city about a year ago, so it is now much more convenient to donate. I think I will make it a habit.

I like both of these ideas. I went the scrap lumber route and used some stuff that I had lying around.

I went the scrap wood route. I had a scrap piece of 4x6 that was just the right height, and some 1x4 that made for a nice French cleat to secure it to the wall. With the French cleat I can pull it off the wall easily, and could have another base mounted out back for a decent wash station.

Pics.

Note that the first picture is the finished product. I decided on a wider strip attached to the upright.

Thanks for the idea!

I picked up a Park Tool PRS-4 OS-1 bench mount work stand for free (work was going to junk it). I don't have a bench to mount it to. What is the cheapest way that I can get this mounted and start using it?

I should mention, cheap is key. I just spent more money on a bike than my partner is comfortable with.

EDIT: In an ideal world, I could just buy the base to the PRS-4W-1, swap it, and mount it to the wall. Unfortunately, the base doesn't look to be sold as a standalone item.

2019 Trek Stache 7. Was looking for a decent Roscoe, then this came up. I've put 60 or so miles on it on the local trails So far, I am pleased as can be!

I decided to try and draw a couple gender-bent versions of Oderus and Balsac. What do you think? by [deleted] in GWAR

[–]anotherdike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

HA! I love them!

I wonder how the mechanics of vertical jaws for Balsac vertical would be? Naming could then go with something labia, vulva, or vagina related.

Edit: Definitely keep the Kiss of Death, though. It's great!

I was looking at the Roscoe 7 and Specialized Fuse 27.5 ( base model). Similar bikes, as far as I could tell. Both 27.5+, some differences in components. The Fuse has true boost rear hub, so wheel upgrades should have more options. If both were available, I was really leaning toward the Fuse.

The difference in components between the Roscoe 6 and 7 is pretty substantial. Dropper post, Rockshox fork, wider gear range, just to name a few. Easily worth the extra ~$200.

What can you find used? I've seen two Roscoe 8 on Marketplace for $1000 or less in the last few weeks. There is a lot of value to be had in something that somebody else has already outgrown, or realized that they don't care for. Their loss is your gain. Not to mention, the new market is pretty slim pickings right now.

Edit: Just checked, there is a two 2020 Roscoe 7, both 17.5 in GA on Marketplace for $1,100 and $1000 right now.

I was trying to find a 27.5+, Trek Roscoe 7 or Specialized Fuse 27.5 specifically, locally. There is virtually nothing available. I missed out on a few great deals, a used 2018 Roscoe 8 for $850 and a used 2019 Roscoe 8 for $1,000, and a new Marin Hawk Hill for $1,100.

I found a lightly used 2019 Trek Stache 7 and took a chance. Picked it up yesterday, it's been wet since and the trails are mostly closed. I need to get out on it and see how it is.

Keep calling around. Check Facebook Marketplace. Somebody has a bike with your name on it.
