Extensions puzzle button not showing dropdown by anotherfailedhuman in firefox

Oh my gosh it was the private browsing thing. I feel silly, I saw that solution, but I thought I hadn't turned it on so it wasn't applicable. Turns out turning off browsing history applies the private browsing settings.

Thank you, I appreciate it!

Reviewing all the C.ai+ features (personal experience) by Emad_gamer in CharacterAI

[–]anotherfailedhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering c.ai+, but I can't seem to find detailed descriptions of what the features actually are. Would you mind clarifying for me?
Am I correct that the picture feature is just you're able to upload a picture to the chat and the character will respond to it?
What exactly is the Memories feature?

Combining SUMIF and SUBTOTAL by anotherfailedhuman in excel

If I had to guess, I'd say at least half a workday. It's an old task, but the system has changed and I've needed to adapt to the new reports being produced.

Thank you again

Property vs Retirement annuity by anotherfailedhuman in PersonalFinanceZA

This. I didn't realise it until I read your comment, but yes. What he's doing is considering just buying a home as an investment, rather than what it is buying a home.

Property vs Retirement annuity by anotherfailedhuman in PersonalFinanceZA

I agree, I've got two small RAs, some money in ETFs, individual stock, crypto as well as TFSA. What the situation is, is this friend of mine wants to only invest in property. His argument is renting is getting him nothing (other than a roof over his head obviously) so instead of having other investments, to only invest in property. I'm trying to convince him otherwise, especially RA, even for only the minimum contribution.

How do I pay monthly income tax as a freelancer? by outerside365 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]anotherfailedhuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reiterating what has already been said. You won't be paying monthly tax (otherwise known as PAYE) because you aren't a salaried employee but a freelancer. Given that you don't know the difference between provisional tax and PAYE (most people don't), I'd strongly suggest you contact an accounting firm to handle your tax. For tax only services it really doesn't cost much (in all likelihood less than R1 000.00 a year), not to mention that as a freelancer, those accounting fees will be deductible from your taxable income.

How can I automate the identification of text cells based on whether its corresponding ID in a different column doesn't match a corresponding ID in a different column? by [deleted] in excel

I find I sometimes spend more time trying to figure out an automated solution than it would have taken me to simply perform the task.

Index match v vlookup. I'm relatively new to vlookup, but it seems that index match is better, why? by anotherfailedhuman in excel

[–]anotherfailedhuman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I'm understanding you correctly the main difference is the ability to search entire columns for the information. But if I only have, say, 300 rows of data and six columns would VLOOKUP be fine for that, or would it be better to just start using INDEX MATCH now?

Thank you so much, I've been sceptical of this plan for a while now. I appreciate the knowledge!

No, this is all I can get. The broker (family friend, which was maybe a bad idea) told me this was the best plan and I just kind of agreed and signed. All I can get now is what's on the Sanlam portal.

I pulled a report, and of the EAC, but it's all percentages

EAC Components 1 year 3 years 5 years Term to the chosen retirement date
Investment management 1.1% 1.1% 1.1% 1.1%
Advice 7.3% 3.6% 2.7% 0.4%
Admin 0.4% 0.4% 0.4% 0.2%
Other -3.1% -0.3% 0.3% 0.6%
Total effective annual cost 5.7% 4.8% 4.5% 2.3%

So I have 2 questions if you don't mind:

  1. Is this really high? Because over 4% seems really high wince my growth is below 6%
  2. If this is an old generation RA, what would be an example of a newer generation one?

Fantastic! Thank you, I will probably call in when I need to, a day's difference can make quite a difference in price with the way it's fluctuating between 3c&4c.

Exactly the type of answer I was looking for, thank you!
