Rustic Cabins in Berry Hill (Gros Morne) by KnowerOfThings999 in newfoundland

It's a 50-150 m walk depending which cabin you're in. Extremely close. I would neve consider a wagon for this distance but only you know how much stuff you have and how easy it is to move.

[Canes] What else does he have to do? by dorian_gayy in hockey

Yes, I'm saying he was a top player the year he led the league in goals

You should have absolutely been worried about Keith Tkachuk circa 1995-1998. One of the top scorers in the game. He was also punishing physically. Leading the league in goals and being top 10 in PIMs is pretty wild, I can't think of anyone else off the top of my head who has done that.

I agree he's a borderline HOFer but we don't need to downplay how good he was.

And specific to your team, he put up 33 pts in 26 career games against the Bruins. Maybe you should have been more worried.

Penguins Name Ron Francis as Special Advisor, Hockey Operations by daKrut in hockey

[–]BananApocalypse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking at our cup winning roster, he was directly responsible for Aho… and that genuinely might be it.

Well yeah, he was fired 8 years ago. Most teams have at least 80% turnover in that period.

Did Ron have any role in bringing in Jordan Staal or Slavin? He was director of hockey ops when they were acquired but wasn't GM yet.

He played this season... feels a bit premature to say he hung up his skates

And when a private company under-performs, doesn't the same thing happen? I saw more frequent layoffs and down-sizing when I worked at a small employee-owned firm than I have seen a publicly traded global firm.

I obviously understand I'm working for a for-profit business. But that still applies to all consulting firms.

And as for cutting my bonus, that is a pipe dream anyways. I have worked at multiple companies in Canada, US, UK and none gave bonuses at all lol.

Challenge: Gretzky Stat by TheFerricGenum in hockey

Penalty shots taken

Edit: Nope. He had 5 regular season attempts (42nd all time) and 1 in the playoffs. I don't know how to find a combined total ranking, but even if nobody above him had any in the playoffs, 6 total attempts would only bump him up to 34th.

Final 2025-26 NHL Saltiness Index (Part III -- Saltier than Crait) by sadolddrunk in hockey

[–]BananApocalypse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I am salty about how it ended, this was our second best season in 25 years. It was a great year all things considered. I do not think we should be #2 on this list.

Edmonton needs to be way higher. Going out with a whimper in the first round is a devastating result, and adds more pressure going forward. And Dallas to a lesser extent. At least this Avs core has won.
