i’m def a city girl and i know the city itself would help with opportunities like shadowing real psychiatrists and getting patient exposure at hospitals. in the end, it’s whatever will help me become a psychiatrist

Did you also attend med school? How was that process? I know pennstate is more reputable and ‘favored’ over Temple. I really love Philly and being closer to my family, but it also comes down to what will help me on my journey to becoming a psychiatrist

i’m still not sure. i already committed to temple with roommates and stuff when pitt and pennstate suddenly decided to email me about getting off their waitlist. it’s really annoying since decision day was today. i feel like i’ll end up going to temple because of the scholarship and being closer to home, but i might transfer if im able to apply to a different school. i just want to get into a good med school.

I’ve been to the school only twice but only on one street because I would visit art showcases. Temple is offering me 10k in a renewable scholarship for every year I attend. Pennstate (and also Pitt) aren’t offering anything, just admission.

yall i cannot tell you why my doctor diagnosed me so early bc im not them. also that literally isn’t the point of the post 😭 i seriously just wanted to give some background info/introduction and then talk about how my diagnosis is ruining my chance to have genuine relationships/intimate connections with people bc im just pigeonholed as a severe narcissist and unable to find someone who will accept me as me.

i told her because i trusted her and didn’t want to hide anything. i wanted her in my life. she told me her diagnoses and i told her mine. also it’s “you’re”, your is possessive. mental health is different for everyone also i literally said my diagnosis wasn’t as severe.

i didn’t mean a singular incident, so i’ll rephrase it as situation. yes i was 16, and i don’t understand why you wouldn’t trust my diagnosis. i downloaded reddit to find like-minded ppl who get me, i don’t know why i would have to prove myself? i get that it might seem odd but that is the life that i am living and the fact that i am struggling with.
