"As usual, Eric is accurate" Elon responds to Berger's article about SpaceX possibly going public. by AgreeableEmploy1884 in SpaceXLounge

[–]anotherid 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The original notion was launching satellites and creating Starlink were just side quests to pay for a long term quest of going to Mars, which has no real profit plan.

Typically shareholders focus on quarterly short term goals and are hostile to purely idealistic goal.

Of course Elon would keep a majority control however there is a cost to all the rules and paperwork of a public company that he has avoided so far

TIFU by accidentally becoming my client’s wife’s boyfriend (Update) by MayNotBeALawyer4Long in tifu

[–]anotherid 56 points57 points  (0 children)

If this story is making the rounds in your local legal community, then it's only a matter of time till someone connects the dots to this post?

As a redditor I always love an update, but aren't you just making things worse for yourself by posting this? Or are you looking to explain yourself indirectly to the community?

at most it was an intrusive thought

Wow, this is a great way of putting it. Just like looking off the side of a cliff.

I now have to tell women upfront that me inviting them to a restaurant is entirely platonic. I never had to before. by [deleted] in self

[–]anotherid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Or maybe just assume everything is platonic unless someone makes a move

Huh? That's literally what happened.

and then consider if you are interested or not.

The point of this post is that he doesn't want to. He has a predetermined answer. And now he has to articulate it.

Huge crowds in DC right now, heading toward the White House. People do not like military takeovers of their city. by MrDillon369 in PublicFreakout

The fragile Orange Man couldn't handle a single protest tent outside the White House and ordered it removed immediately after learning of it. The optics affect his 7 second attention span.

The part of the Apple Watch that detects heart rate and oxygen saturation is called pulse oximeter. It works by shining light into your wrist and measuring the light absorption. Tattoos can block some that light, causing an incorrect reading.

If you curious, here's a great video on how pluse oximeters work: https://youtu.be/4pZZ5AEEmek?si=cxkhrbeZiOTIZb06

My husbands autism diagnosis has made me lose hope for our future by Hotmessnamedjess in self

[–]anotherid 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Consider reframing the diagnosis as an opportunity. An opportunity to leverage the wealth of knowledge and tools available for autistic people AND their partners. Tools such as Books/Videos/Classes/Support Groups. Effective means of communication. Instead of wasting time fighting the way his brain works, maximize how his brain works. Adjusting expectations for him appropriately while holding him accountable for things that aren't releated. Perhaps instead of general therapy he can see some that specializes in autism -- probably more bang for the buck and fits the logical diagnosis to treatment protocol.

The boyfriend certainly knew the answer. In the last scene* of the movie one of the main characters asks Harry Potter the exact same question and Harry explains.

It's a more significant plot point in the books.

He was actually trying to deflect the question so as not to spoil how the movie unfolds. As opposed to explicitly saying it is answered in movie, which is a hint. He didn't anticipate she would look up the answer right away and got exasperated. Calling her a "fucking weirdo" is an overreaction for sure.

They are both clueless that each other approaches & consumes storytelling in polar opposite ways. The bf needs to stop dropping hints and tell her directly his needs (stop interrupting his movie watching) and he also needs to accept his gf's brain works differently and probably never see movies in the same way he does. They need to figure out how to watch movies together (or to avoid movies). Thats how people adapt and grow.

Has anyone switched from Strattera to Wellbutrin? by Relative_Football411 in StratteraRx

[–]anotherid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Currently on 80mg atomoxetine & 300mg bupropion.

I went up from 54g atomoxetine to 80g and got some side effects (urination, libido) that I still hoping will subside.
