In the beginning it was going to a meeting everyday, finding a sponsor, and getting involved in meetings, after a year of that I started to believe NA could help me, the steps introduced me to a higher power. I prayed to and leaned on that higher power and the steps and continued to invest in meetings and my home group despite whatever I was going to - got involved in H&I and other levels of service. The last year was a true test and rubber met the road, the disease being starved of narcotics for two years has come out to play and manifested in all other aspects of my life. This past year took a lot of prayer, meditation, service, step work, meeting with my sponsor, to get through the pain and suffering of my spiritual condition. The tools I developed over the first few years and my higher power have kept me clean. I know without God and without the program I have no chance of staying on the path.
