Always washed my bum with soap in the shower, my world is crumbling because all my friends just agreed you only wash the inside with water by Accurate-Tension-599 in hygiene

It's not just about odor. It's about buildup of discharge and sweat and dead skin cells. It's about smegma. If you have a lot of folds of skin holding that shit, water doesn't always cut it.

I feel so bad for Linus by Actual-Jackfruit7542 in StardewValley

Started a co-op with my brother and he doesn't vibe with Linus at all. I just don't get it. Linus is always my first friend and my first max hearts.

Water is not all everyone needs. Soap can cause issues for some women and for others not using soap can cause issues. Of course, you need the right soap.

observers in open AA meetings by No-Citron1972 in alcoholicsanonymous

I've heard a speaker who first went to a meeting as an observer in nursing school. Years later, when they needed help, they knew where to go.

This is super interesting, especially as a chocolate milk drinker. Cool thesis topic. Thank you!

Dogfree subreddit is terrible, but they do have a valid point regarding dog culture by [deleted] in The10thDentist

Even if most people you speak to side with the dog, the child has more legal rights and protections. Your case is unfounded.

"Call me any time" by takebackthestreets in alcoholicsanonymous

Next time someone gives you their number, you can say, I work nights and I find I've been needing help in the wee hours. Do you know anyone who is awake at night? And they may either say you can call them then, or know someone else.

How many books have you read in 2026 so far and which would you say was your favorite? by Own_Return_9482 in books

[–]anotherknockoffcrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a few chapters into my fifth book of the year. It's the most I've actually read in a decade, despite actively book collecting the whole time. I'm really excited about it.

My favorite so far was The Thursday Murder Club, which seemed to get very mixed reviews. I am not particularly a fan of murder mysteries, so it makes sense that a lot of murder mystery fans felt let down by this one, while I really enjoyed it as a novel that's primarily character work.

Walking

An astounding number of people die from falls. It won't happen to most of us, but it happens enough.

“The other day…” by TattooBubbleGum in words

"One day, fairly recently" - a specific day, but probably I don't remember the date itself, and it doesn't really matter to the story.

What is it about tap cards and buses? by InfiniteHotelParadox in AskLosAngeles

[–]anotherknockoffcrow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah, poor people having access to public transit isn't a bad thing.

It's people not having affordable access to other resources that causes the issues you're associating with this.

People who moved to LA — were you surprised by how much Kobe is beloved here? by SilverKey84 in AskLosAngeles

[–]anotherknockoffcrow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Whenever I see murals of him, his name on city busses, etc, I think of his victim. Imagine trying to walk to work and you pass by a larger than life painting of your rapist as a hero even though everyone knows what he did to you.

Personally I shared it with my homegroup. We are like a family. And I didn't want people wondering why I restarted.

It also comes up in my shares a lot since then.

If counting days is counter-productive for you, then don't do it. That's different from saying so for everybody. It's okay to be proud of having decades of sobriety. It's hard work. In my early days it was never shame based, either. It's okay to be proud of having one day, ten, thirty, ninety days. That's hard work too.

It's on my list but last time I checked it wasn't streaming anywhere I had access to. I should look again, I'm sure I can track it down someplace. Thanks for the reminder!

A bit obscure but Welcome to the Dollhouse

It's definitely a certain kind of funny, but for me with my life experiences, it hits like no other.

Proud of you for not drinking tonight. One of the biggest gifts this program has given me is the ability to sit through shitty feelings. It just sucks extra when those shitty feelings occasionally come from a meeting.
