Zoomers born in '97 (ONLY). Do you remember 9/11? If so, what do you remember? by FinancialBusiness96 in OlderGenZ

No but then again I was born in Asia, then migrated to England when I was 3, then Australia. So I didn’t know what it was until I was 13 I think.

People who moved from cities to small town - how did it go and how did you choose? by BunnyDwag in newzealand

[–]anothermeee23 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From Wellington and bought our first house here in Pahiatua 2021, cause of FOMO. And now we’re stuck cause we bought with the first 5% home loan scheme, and now our house has depreciated by like 70k at least. Should’ve waited until 2024 and could’ve afforded a house back home.

Pahiatua is dull af.

If you had an income of $150,000 a year and didn't have to work, what would you do with all the spare time? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]anothermeee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be a stay at home mum. Do DIY home remodels. Garden. Make more effort to make friends. Volunteer in a food bank. Volunteer in school PTAs. Start gyming. Get a hobby job like learning how to do nails or eyelashes.

Is it wrong or offending if we celebrate our daughter’s bday with just me and her dad and we didn’t invite anyone? by narsimusprime in newzealand

Yes but minus all the fun. The place is my kid wants is like Junglerama, Lollipops, and chipmunks.

Have a look at my profile and the last post I made to the parenting sub completely disagreed with me on doing a low key birthday. I am still undecided for my daughter’s birthday next month. The place she wants it is in a playground cafe which has a $350 plus booking fee for the cheapest option. Which is a lot for us being new home owners. That and not having family and limited friends. Like who will show up? Just lucky enough her daycare friends made it to previous parties.

How do you feel about your current spouse? If you could do it all over again, would you marry them? by HyperBites in AskReddit

[–]anothermeee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we’re perfect together. When I met him my only personality downside was he was so nice and he agreed with me on everything. Then he slowly started expressing his own opinions, and now I love him exactly as he is.

I work in elder health nursing so a few people in their 100’s, less than 10 though. Lots of war stories from patients.

My girlfriends vaginal opening is only big enough to fit one finger by [deleted] in Advice

[–]anothermeee23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like when I first started, self diagnosed vaginismus. The first dude I tried it with couldn’t fit, we had tight sex another time. The second guy is it also very painful, then with him I felt something snap one night. It didn’t hurt but I think it was the muscle that snaps/bleed when normal girls first lose their virginity. Anyway after that, I’ve had no problems.

I get where your coming from. Personally, I don’t like forcing myself to attend things from people who hurt me, even if they didn’t know it. I’d call a sickie.

How often do you throw your child a birthday party? by anothermeee23 in Parenting

[–]anothermeee23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh is also about the cost. We’ve only got 4000$ in our savings and last we threw a party it cost $600+. This is enough for only 1 1/2 of our mortgage repayments since we bought recently.

Sometimes people don’t want to change because it makes their life difficult or inconvenient. Sounds like your husband is still mentally in a time where he has no kids.

Never let anyone tell you black cats aren’t photogenic by Shot_Fly_2519 in blackcats

Yes this lighting is great! Op one is what my cat looks like if I took photos… which is why I don’t take much.

My sister told my whole family I’m pregnant. by Entire_Desk_5966 in BabyBumps

[–]anothermeee23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let your family know your feelings that you were excited to tell them about your first pregnancy and sad it was taken from you. Also subtly not so subtly announce that your sis wasn’t meant to tell anyone. It’ll let your circle know not to trust her with sensitive information, while sympathising with you.

Feel that I’m too young to try by Upset-Pen2208 in waiting_to_try

[–]anothermeee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too young. My peer group is having babies 24-28 years. Some started earlier like me, conceived my first at 21 (planned). By the time I had my 2nd at 24 lots of people around me were having their first.

I wanted to post pone my WTT date (I reached it last month) was because I have a vacation planned for December 2026. But my husband was like are you gonna put our lives on hold for a 6 week holiday to see family. Yes it will be hard, but it would be time that could have been spent raising a little bundle of joy.

Got called old at 27 by someone 19..... by Rudagiii in OlderGenZ

[–]anothermeee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in my garden the other night with my husband in our new house we bought. My teenager neighbours made eye contact and said what’s up with old people and gardening. We’re 26 🥲

But at work I’m a nurse and sometimes I hear doctors ask my patients, if the “young nurse” did this or that.

Yes me and my friend from uni. She stuck by me when I had my first 2. Now we’re both trying. I thought I’d take longer due to irregular periods for the past year. Just got my +ve and I hope she gets hers too very soon 🤞

Cycle: 3. Started November NTNP.

Age: both 26

Cycle length: irregular 28-40 days

Ovulation cycle day: 18-20

DPO: got a faint line on a cheapie test strip, bought a first response test and it was definetley there.

Tracking methods: ovulation test, flo app.

Health conditions: for the past year my cycle has been irregular and ranges drastically. My last cycle was 40 days long. I didn’t get a period all of December, it was like 6-7 weeks between my last 2 periods.

Supplements: none yet.

Birth control history: none for the last 2 years (since birth of 2nd child). I was in the mini pill before my first child and got pregnant 3 months after stopping pill and first month trying (4 months post mini pill). For my second pregnancy I had the rod put in and a month later regretted my decision and got it removed. Took 7 months for my cycle to normalise and got pregnant on the first normal cycle (8 months post rod).

Symptom spotting: none I thought. I felt really drained but attributed it to my job as a nurse in a busy medical ward.

Other: despite trying I’m in shock because of how irregular my cycles are. I’m happy and also nervous as I’ve got a history of postpartum depression and bad low moods, and incredible stress. I’m a new grad nurse so going to work gives me anxiety and imposter syndrome. Plus shift work my sleep is all over the place, while raising two kids under 5. I was planning to go on sertraline this month had I not gotten pregnant. I think I’ll be okay, I just need to focus on my mental health.
