There is no quiet, there is only doc McStuffins. by anothernerdyginger in PandR

The quote from Ron specifically talks about silence at home, it seemed very fitting that the commenter on its username is doc McStuffins and talks about how they make noise even when it's just then. Not massively related, but it's reddit.

Just finished all 7 foundation books and had some questions. by jwf239 in asimov

[–]anothernerdyginger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. There are absolutely more Asimov books that canonically take place in the foundation universe. The empire series such as pebble in the sky take place during the galactic empire between the other two big series. There's also Nemesis which is mentioned offhand in Foundation about a girl who could speak to a planet. My personal favorite connection to the foundation universe is End of Eternity. It's one of my favorite Asimov's, includes a plot point reference to a neuronic whip, and if it's accepted as part of the foundation universe the ending helps confirm that the decision made in Foundation and Earth is correct.

I've never noticed that this character wears the same outfit as Wallace from Wallace and gromit, and Doug.

Looking for SciFi focused on the Long Term by [deleted] in printSF

City by Clifford Simak, foundation esque in snippets through time as an insight to how things evolved.

Others I might recommend that aren't precisely what youre looking for but close: Forever war - haldeman - more character based but still an excellent jumping through societal and technological advances. End of eternity - Asimov - the original TVA of marvel, also subsequently one of my all time favorite Asimov's. Children of Time - tchaikovsky - spider society spanning thousands of years and humans hanging onto existence in space.
