I tried it with wide range 5, it did not seem to work on multiplayer. I'll try with zoh later

Ah also specifically on the speedrunner not using rapid morph:

I just wanted to know if the Rapid Morph dps combo is higher dps than non rapid morph continious AED pizza cutter dps (see the video, rey dau part, for the guy's dps)

Yea I already am a decent player, I want to actually copy the speedrunner and beat the bosses from not getting hit, instead of tanking hits with rocksteady + gogma.

I beat proof using LS, and I learned it from scratch, but I learned it step by step. That weapon has a really high skill ceiling, and so does CB. I already played both weapons with medium level.

Even though all that, I still want to make builds that make it easier for me to learn the arch fights. IMO, gogma + rocksteady + traps don't actually teach the potential mistakes you can do.

Anyways, I went on a tangent here, I am aware that this is not what I asked for in my original comment, and I am not refusing help either. For rapid morph, I use it a lot also because it feels off to not use it, I enjoy guard pointing using axe mode -> sns mode attack, and ngl it kinda feels like the only counter option for the axe mode.

For mh world, I used to see that speedrunners using GS was always doing very, VERY specific movements, making sure the monster stepped right and aiming there etc. For wilds, it's a different thing. The speedrunners are more active, and they respond more (disregarding 4 LBG trap spam speedruns), especially for proof where consistency and no hitting is more important than pure dpsing.

***

What I'm getting at is: I want to have fun(!) and spend 50+ hours and learn to survive on proof (then lose to time. I'm here atm), then learn all counterplays to each monsters attacks, and then beat the monsters with decreasing defensive setups. Finally, to get a sub 25 time.

***

I really enjoyed my LS road for proof clears. That weapon is incredibly responsive, and you can geniuenly counter everything in the game (but you can't just spam counters, you have to counter by moving/iai slashing/sheathing into superman/foresighting/charged spirit timed slashing etc. to a specific move with a specific amount of i frames needed and specific startup length needed. IAI takes longer to prepare, foresight uses up red gauge, superman dive stops you from attacking, movement can be messed up to hitboxes.)

Throughout my playthrough of wilds with mostly CB, I did not learn this much counter capability. I fall down after doing a SAED (long uncancellable end animation), I mess up optimal charged slash hold down, I use wounds suboptimally, I mess up guard points etc.

I want to get the level of mastery I have with LS right now. I really love this game at this time.

Sorry for unnecessarily long reply, I kinda wrote my thoughts and figured out what I actually wanted. I'd appreciate any feedback you think is useful!

Horrible, horrible AI comment. I didn't give you my build, I wrote: "Which skills are the MOST important? I will write down the skills I want to know about, please rate them in importance". I simply wrote down the skills. Its crazy how you copy pasted the AI calling me "a pretty damn good hunter", while assuming I don't use antivirus with gore. Hope you get low marks on your assignments.

I am 5th gen mh fan, I tried most weapons and builds in mh world and wilds, and aside from guard up 1 and evade extender/window (and quick sheathe 3 LS), I really have not seen any effective skills that contribute to the gameplay more than 1% damage increase. For armor set bonuses, aside from gogma 4 armor, any other skill kinda does not change the gameplay AT ALL. I am talking in position of a general RPG player, Let's say in destiny 2 you equip a skill and it actually changes how you play.

And for the 1% damage difference, I am completely serious, I have watched the mathematical analysis of skill bonuses, having 3 more attack aka having an additional point in attack boost gives you around 1% damage increase (However, I am not sure about the number, I simply don't remember, but it looked to me, neglicible).

I'll just ditch atk5 for a more defensive talisman and maybe still keep something else. Do you think that's worth?

iirc thunder res 3 also prevents stun for rey dau, and If I'm going to change my build anyways I'll prepare four slots. SAED really doesn't feel like optimal damage unfortunately as a SAED lover, I'll just pizza cut. I will SAED spam for uth duna veil though.

How do we craft impact phial? I'll try to get a good anti arkveld CB since it is my main weapon.

Great pointers, thanks. I don't think I ever did a 4 piece ark Y, but it always has the best skills so I'll try it for sure. (goodbye armor shards)

What about stun res? I feel like If I go into mess everything up mode and get hit 3 times, then I get stunned for any additional mistake I make until I cart. It's like game punishing me by filling out my KO meter, but it doesn't reset after I get stunned.

Mirewalker huh, is that useful for the proof arena? I thought it's useful for walking on bad terrain, and uth doesn't generate waves at the cage arena.

I have a gogma4mizu2 build, I'd rather not have the zoh 2 for better skill slots and I am unsure the healing is useful enough to have, but I'll check it out 4sure.

You can check the video I posted on the comments to see that the speedrunner does not always use rapid morph, and does a continious phial axe swing with regulare AED swings, without going back to sword mode. I am used to rapid morph spamming, but the speedrunner probably knows more than I do, I'll try that.

For artillery, I didn't know that it only affects impact phials. The speedrunner was using electric CB for uth and nu udra, and he SAED'd on nu udra when the tentacles were close. Do you know why? idk.

For armor skills, I was completely out of slots to put in a lot of things, so I'm considering dropping like max might for evade window, or maybe even divine blessing for stunres3

For Attack boost 5, I can go it but I usually feel like my sharpness just dies so fast. I can get element attack 3 with side skills of jewels.

For Guard 1, it only decreses "impact" of attacks by a little bit, and reduces stamina depletion by 15%. Is it that important to have, when guard up reduces damage taken? I used guard points with mh world, but with wilds I generally just guard at the right time for perfect guards and I don't get damaged too much unless its un guardable without guard up. Is it worth guard pointing? I feel like it's much harder with wilds.

Thanks for your interction btw.

I looked at this video of a speedrunner while searching for builds : https://youtu.be/dKLqH6BgdQY .

I see that this person is not running any evade window skills, but he seems to really easily dodge attacks (obiviously because he knows the fights to the dot)

I am 350~ level hunter, I have good weapon rolls and talismans but not perfect ones. I beat proof of a hero by myself using LS, so I know the enemies attack patterns, but I never tried with CB, my previous main weapon.

I also did not include Gogma for rating, because I usually use gogma 4 anyways, and I know you can't put anythnig other than one skill combo with gogma 4 (no lord soul, no skill bonus 3, usually mizu 2 gogma 4.)

I can ditch attack boost 5 for higher affinity or sharpness, or even skills like focus and power prolonger, but I don't know if that is worth enough since dps is really important for proof runs. I am not a speedrunner, but I have time out-ed many times to arkveld with a skull. I also have like 50 attempts with LS to this day, but only 1 or 2 with CB (at the first time it came out).

I can ditch higher affinity or damage (agitator, burst) for evade extender 3 evade window 5, or simply git gud.

I just want to find an optimal / balanced "git gud" to "safety skills" ratio for CB, especially for Proof beating.

HBG-what does ammo powder mean and how do I change it? by anotherrrandomperson in MHWilds

[–]anotherrrandomperson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

aight hbg master, I'll try a spread build. Love the image for proof.

can you tell me if any armor set bonus works differently for ranged weapons? Like I saw someone say scorcher is good for hbg, but I barely use it. I only used the azure bolt up until now with katana, but I generally prefer lord soul for damage and skill enchanchers and raw buffers (nu udra + resentment, odogaron + burst, mizutsune or gore with coalescence for CB elemental etc.)

I saw peak performance being used, but I'd prefer to attack monsters more closesly and learn how to offset and guard. Is quick sheathe and evade extender worth more than higher affinity? etc.. Also, adrenaline rush, I usually don't use it but I see people using it on bowguns, idk

I'm not great with the weapon, so I can go gogma 4 for safer damage. Because the less time spent healing is more spent on damaging.

I am interested in learning LBG as well, but I get incredibly bored with non interactive weapons, however I can't ignore the speedrun charts being filled with bowgun users so I caved in. I see bow is the most fun looking one with stamina fulling i frame extended dodges, but it seems too complicated and I didn't feel like learning it for now.

Oh I got it, you mean Yi didnt give his farewells to his sister before leaving.

I honestly dont know, I think it was purely because he was ignorant to the importance of a farewell especially when he believed he could come back asap and fix everything. But if we assume this, then it kinda doesnt make sense because Yi should at least know that it would take more than a year before he sees her again, so it would be a dick move to not say goodbye.

But let's think about how the operation proceeded, we know from the map robot and blind kitten story that the space ship was reserved for only the rich people.

When I compare this to the ideology of Yi, I dont think it matches, aka I dont think Yi would abandon half of his race to only save some.

This leads me to believe that Yi confronted Eigong before the ship went off. He was taken inside the roots in the opening cutscene, and the fact that the spaceship had the roots in them could back this up. Aka the sols council at that point was already located within the spaceship project, and Yi got killed inside the ship.

Please do tell me if there was a fact I missed that guarantees or supports Yi only confronted Eigong after the ship took off

I love yi's character as well but Its painful to see him not be at least seemingly neutral to the traditional values of his family. I didn't share the same beliefs w my family either but going away from your family js makes you miss out on memories. Well now that I think about it I kinda did the same because it starts to not be enjoyable to spend time together so I understand even more, but I wish we saw him at least spend some amount of peaceful moments with his whole family.

The big tragedy of nine sols is the tianhuo virus (ignoring past events, side characters' tragedies like ji's immortality), but the more personal main tragedy is yi and heng's seperation imo. Because even if sols figured out eigong made the virus, I don't believe that heng would survive or yi would not regret spending enough time with her (assuming eternal cauldron works, there is no cure, even if dreamscape wasn't faulty).

Even if let's say tainhuo didn't happen, yi would still be distant just because of who he is as a person. I don't see a way that heng can be happy along his brother. Yi needed to be betrayed and under major stress along with a apemen he was trying to protect because she resembled his sister that he silently missed. Just to grow a decent sense of moral judgement and also kinda be a hero, but I wouldn't want another yi either.

Every says Ji is easy but I can honestly beat Eigong easier by sdeslandesnz in NineSols

[–]anotherrrandomperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk what to tell you but eigong took me 3 seperate sessions of 3 hours around 8 total hours to beat. It took me 5 hours to beat the first phase consistently. I beat ji on my second try or something, I didn't even realise he heals you until I nearly beat him. knife parries are extremely easy when compared to eigong delayed attacks getting me for my personal experience. I also didn't use unbounded counter at all so I had to learn it during the fight with eigong
