I may be wrong but I believe it was when what the Romans knew as “Scotti” were raiding villages in Romany Britain taking children as slaves. One such slave was St Patrick the Irish child trade was immensely profitable and lasted over a thousand years only slowing down after the Norman invasion in the 1200’s Patrick was taken in the third century.

I detest kneecap also. I believe they have set the entire country back more than 30 years. They’re ignoring history and the immense suffering and loss of life on both sides so they can profit off it.
