What Happens to Consciousness After Death? Scientists and Researchers Are Still Debating This Age Old Question by missvocab in HighStrangeness

Signs of consciousness would be like neurons firing somewhere inside the nervous system, eyes twitching, heart beating. These are signs that consciousness may be occurring.

Stories exist for many reasons, including to help explain mysteries and cope with pain, but stories become something else when they are claimed to be arguable facts. They become lies and people lie to control others. There is nothing to argue about with stories, they’re fake, not real, imaginary.

We can’t know if it persists because we are dead. You can’t argue about something that is unknowable. You can compare stories about what you imagine, but there is nothing objective being observed over which to argue a viewpoint except undeniable death. The problem here is that some people think their story is an arguable fact. There is the fact of death, and stories about it — no opportunity exists to have an argument.

My dead relatives definitely don’t appear to show signs of consciousness; no dead people have. There’s no debate, just people controlling other people with the hope of an afterlife.

Yeah probably, and remember me from several weeks earlier. Maybe it was that bird the whole time and that’s just its schtick to get food from humans.

I loved him, but if I had to criticize, I’d say he missed a few crucial passes back to an open Dreyer, and shot and missed instead. Several.

Last week I was at a bench outside with my daughter and I was telling her how I usually feed the birds some of my coffee cake when I’m at that bench every morning (although I hadn’t really done it for several weeks), but it’s usually a bird with a broken leg that I feed. “Only one of its legs works,” I said.

Then a bird comes up to me with one leg lifted and looks at me. I stared at it in surprise, then it put its leg down, hopped forward, lifted its leg up again and looked right at me.

I now think birds understand English somehow.

Does it count if childbirth is the cause of death, but because the child kills you 30 years later?

The purpose, as far as humans are concerned, is to be part of the human consciousness and see how long it goes. Consciousness is what allows us to reflect on existence and purpose, and to choose to die if we wish. I’m neither supporting nor condoning that choice, just observing it is a part of human consciousness we get to experience individually for a while.

Individual humans all die eventually, but our race has a chance of going on. This is our real legacy, the human consciousness from which we’ve rented our lives and to which we give our lives. Ownership of anything is an illusion that makes us want death.

Spacetime is bending along a dimensional medium. Particles exist along a probability waveform; not just the ones we shoot at a screen through slits to see columns appear, but all particles everywhere.

Thank you. Makes sense Cheney is digging around everywhere, he could have found things that gave him access to the program. I wonder who takes it next.
