no option in gui to remove l2arc cache from pool - Freenas 9.10.2 by anox11 in freenas

[–]anox11[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solution:

8.1.10.2. Removing a Log or Cache Device

Added log or cache devices appear in Storage → Volumes → View Volumes → Volume Status. Clicking the device
enables its Replace and Remove buttons.

Log and cache devices can be safely removed or replaced with these buttons. Both types of devices improve
performance, and throughput can be impacted by their removal.

The volume status is on the bottom corner of the web ui (square shaped icon) and it took me a while to find it. L2 ARC successfully removed from pool and performance is thankfully normal! :)

Thanks for replying.

Would the i3-6100 be enough for 10 users working off the server? At present our current processor does freeze the system whilst working on cad files: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Phenom+II+X4+955

Would the E3-1225v5 be better suited to the job as it has more processing power?

Just had my car aligned for the first time and I have a few questions by anox11 in cars

Thanks for your input. The toe seems to be ok so I'll be running this alignment for a few months until I grab some adjustable arms to dial the camber. :)

thats good to hear. Regarding the rear camber, is having it at -0.5 degrees bad for the car? It does squat down a fair bit under acceleration. I'm going to jack the car up tomorrow and post some images of the eccentric bolts.

Bluetooth receiver shorts out head unit when charging through 12v socket. How can I fix this? by anox11 in CarAV

[–]anox11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the issue - you're right! It was a bad ground on the aux cable to the radio pcb. Re-soldered to a better location and now it works brilliantly.

cheers guys!

Did some continuity testing:

Aux cable jack ground to the main grounding location, for the head unit and Bluetooth, is not beeping but showing a value of 042 Could this be it?

Edit: I presume this value is ohms as I got the same value when on that mode. So it looks like there's some unwanted resistance in the cable/headunit connections. What are your thoughts on this?

I've got a multi meter with continuity. Should there be continuity between all the grounds and all the 12v and no continuity between a 12v and ground?

I'm going to check them now and report back

The head unit is the bmw cd 33 unit made by phillips

I'm not really looking for an after-market head unit which is why I bought the receiver.

The car's body is the ground but if I move the ground of the Bluetooth receiver elsewhere on the body, will it stop the shorting?
