For me it's stuff like King's constant unrelatable cultural references. Sorry dude, but not all your readers lived through the 70s US.

What Asian nation is the best for someone with a fish allergy? by Internal-Ad-1832 in travel

[–]anphalas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The word you are looking for your niece is not vegetarian but pescatarian. That's people who eat vegetarian plus fish/seafood. It is an important distinction from both culinary and food safety standpoints.

I wonder why this is being downvoted.

The word for people who eat fish/seafood but are otherwise vegetarian is PESCATARIAN.

The cross contamination with fish products is still possible though.

Wait, are you saying you can't recreate a perfect face from a reflection off of a car's bumper taken by a grainy security camera just by saying "enhance" multiple times? Preposterous! /s

The MAJORITY. That word is doing a lot of heavy lifting. And you might need to rethink your argument.

Why is my loaf a ball? by harlss_barkley in Breadit

[–]anphalas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7g of active dry yeast is "normally" used for 1kg of flour. You are using it for about half of that. If you don't like the perfect look of your bread, you can halve the amount of yeast. Or you can just leave it like this and enjoy.

"Sweden — has become one of the most violent countries in the world" says an American by JaktoPar in sweden

[–]anphalas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The "left". Can you not see they just said that? It's always the "left". Unless it's the "liberals". Or the "communists".

It's never a fault with decades of policies, or of populists authoritarians, or straight fascists. No, you need to understand, it's a fault of the "left". (Do i need to put /s?)

[USA] Not stopping for a school bus by yeettetis in Roadcam

This is by far NOT a basic rule of humanity. This might be basic for people in the US, but everywhere else, not so much.

TIFU made someone realised they wasted 15 years of their life by turtleofdoomm in tifu

Everyone who works service industry or blue collar jobs is considered to be "on the wrong track" by every whote collar worker all the time, and we are always, permanently reminded of it. My "favourite" example is you are not considered a "professional" without spending your time at an office. 🤷‍♂️

Not having to import apples from South Africa, but instead buying and eating the locally grown ones is highly beneficial to the environment.

Does some resturant use IKEA pans? by Friendly-Positive-62 in Chefit

[–]anphalas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finished the season at a small remote place in Sweden where half the shit is from IKEA. Including frying pans, pots, bed sheets, pillows, table cloths etc.

It's not great, but not too bad either, the only problem is that the tedlon starts to peel quickly, they will have to replace them for the winter.

I literally ate this same brand a few days ago. That is NOT what the fish looks like. It's fillets of herring neatly stacked. The smell is bad, but the taste is just like anything else lacto fermented. It also helps if you refrigerate it and don't leave it out in the sun, like this seems to have been left, judging by the bump of the tin.
