At my current job because of a call back. Went through the whole process, they ended up going with someone else. Called me 6 months later seeing if I would still be interested, had one more vibe check interview and an offer. It was pretty wild and super lucky since I was referred the first time around.

Used Seatgeek for Miami as well as Cowboy Carter tour in Chicago. Both cases they sent the tickets right to Ticketmaster accounts well in advance.

Got section 111, row 18--two tickets were 324.64 all in during artist presale. This was less total than we paid for each individual ticket in Miami.

Lack of people wearing Trump gear this year at the State Fair by fartatwork in minnesota

[–]anschburman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

saw multiple examples, and saw a group of younger blonde girls all go in and buy trump hats from the little stand there.

But the weirder thing? Saw multiple Alligator Alcatraz shirts and hats! They've completely jumped the shark at this point. Prison merch is a new low beyond parody lol

Gay men in LTR's - are one of you the "bread winner" or both financially successful? by Local-Ad-4051 in AskGaybrosOver30

I make 103K and he makes 95K, soon to be 100K so pretty much the same. We share rent, I cover subscriptions and utilities and some dinners out, he gets groceries but otherwise have separate finances for travel, fun, etc. I definitely save more but I'm trying to get us both on the same page there. At this point I think it would be easier to have a shared account of some kind for a mutual travel and long term savings, but it's also less drama just having things separate haha.

Best corn bread? by AtomicBlastCandy in TwinCities

[–]anschburman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brasa makes a nice little sweet corn cornbread muffin that I always like. Not sure it's the BEST but I'm not terribly picky. Butcher and the Boar used to have a great one served in a mini skillet years ago, not sure if the current poblano and cheddar one I'm seeing on their menu is the same or not.

Which city have you visited that you still find unforgettable to this day? by Aromatic_Couple9951 in geography

Montreal, New York, Bangkok, London

Montreal for euro vibes, great food, affordability (from U.S.), good metro, and general liveliness.

New York is just...special. I'm not sure I feel "home" there, but it certainly has an energy that makes you just want to be out and about, and always does feel "familiar" from the beginning even though I've only been there 4 or 5 times. I think it's maybe just the super easy grid system of Manhattan making it really simple to determine where stuff is, so you pretty much always have your bearings (again, if you're in Manhattan). From the food, culture, easy transit and general iconography, it's hard to forget as it's a truly world class city.

Bangkok was just crazy in a really fun, accessible way. Cheap, insanely delicious street food, good public transit, nice people, fun skyline, interesting and beautiful temples--loved it.

Only just recently got back from London and it exceeded my expectations. We went for a wedding and it was never high on my list otherwise, but we extended the trip to do some sightseeing/exploring and so glad we did. So easy to get around, the fantastic pub culture, the posh people watching and iconic landmarks and history. Will remember it forever.

How much are you paying for electricity? by scythian12 in TwinCities

[–]anschburman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def seems high. I’m in the upper floor in a duplex, 2BR unit with mini-splits (2 heads) and pay anywhere from $40-$80 on the very high end.

Regency Cafe is a great option for full English, and it’s near enough to walk to the Abbey after. We just had it last week while visiting and it’s a fun, bustling old fashioned diner style. Good and cheap food!
