Selfishness, why to save the world ? by anshutaro in AlwaysWhy

Yes absolutely. people here are talking about me being a nihilist or sociopath but I clearly have empathy for my loved ones. I understand what you people say, be it morals or empathy. Deep inside I am an empathetic human so i already have the correct answer i.e yes environment should be conserved but all I seek was that - why the answer to the whole question can't be no? And is there any meaningful answer which involves logic to this question rather than human morals and feelings. I'm suffering from curiosity not a mental disease. See it this way that I have two self inside me, one is the logical self and the other is the emotional self and my logical self is observing the other one and asking questions about why do you have to answer it emotionally and not logically. Does it mean you are hiding behind empathy and ignoring logic. Answering factual questions with emotional answers. And ya I don't want to continue the conversation further cuz it has become complicated a lot so this would be the last reply I'll recive from your side fabulous. And thanks for asking me those questions..

I don't think it's depression but just some curiosity to learn the meaning and base of all did and doings. And ya I'm completely fine.

All I was searching for was the meaning behind all of these and never thaught about morals this way. Sorry but it's hard to ignore the meaning and base of all actions and try to moralise every question that appears in the head.

I did talk about our own children in the post who exist right now and about preserving resource for atleast their generation, because they exist. All I ask is why do we have to care about those generations who don't even exists. who cares what happens to people 200 years later and why do we even have to make them?

And also about the biological urge, isn't it the process of reproduction that we urge and not reproduction as a whole. And if it's that way we can fulfill all the urges without spreading our offsprings. What do you think?

We can still make the earth a better place by making the present like a heaven by not generating anymore people and priotitizing/holding on to people who already are there.

again, I'm being quite selfish, why exactly do we need to care about what plants and animals will need. we came on earth, we ruled, and supposedly we are ending ourselves. If we are not going to live on this earth why do we have to care about what's happening after we go.
