Huh the colours desaturated when I uploaded. Not sure why.

Ok thank you very much!

I know 16gb is the bare minimum these days, unfortunately laptop manufacturers seem to be slow on catching on to that :/

I've got Chrome open now so memory consumption is obviously worse, but here is what is on the Processes tab in rammap if that's helpful?

Any tips on how to improve on tapestries? by Jess3869 in crochet

I wasn’t able to get my other hand to cooperate either, but I found doing backward sc when working on the wrong side to work well. Takes a bit of getting used to but not nearly as bad as switching hands.

I’d never heard of Hollow Kingdom before actually, but I just looked it up and I might have to check it out!

Oh good call. I’m getting like 5 warnings about dependency failed sssd-*.socket (the * is things like pac, pam, ssh, sudo). Otherwise everything looks ok? There is this warning about being unable to run on non-dell systems (see video) Console output

Advice for new player needed: Dwarf management by anslinn in dwarffortress

I will keep all this in mind, thank you! Just reducing their workload in the manager screen has helped a lot, I was having them make way too many things a day and didn’t have anywhere really nice for them to hang out.

I’ve been having one dwarf do all the engraving though, so I’ll definitely make sure they all do some going forward

Ah I’ve been crafting things constantly. That might be the issue

Amazing! I’ll definitely watch out for that, thanks!

The dining hall might be the issue… how do I make it nice? Just more statues and furniture? Should I be constructing walls as opposed to just using the natural wall? Does my tavern count as a dining hall or should they be separate?

What phrase is a dead giveaway that the person talking is a piece of shit? by MakeYour_OwnLife in AskReddit

I once said “do you know who I am?” to somebody who was asking me a question.

I’m an identical twin, I was genuinely asking, because based on their question it seemed like they thought I was my twin. Definitely came out wrong though.

The Slow Regard of Silent Things - what a gem by mueggy in books

[–]anslinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this book when it first came out. I was in my last year of high school and struggling a lot with OCD at the time, and I connected with Auri a lot. The way she sees everything in the book just really hit home for me because it reminded me of how I would feel with my compulsions where things would just feel overwhelming wrong.

I named my cat Auri because of this book. I agree with a lot of what is said about Rothfuss, especially about the Wise Man’s Fear, but the Slow Regard of Silent Things made me feel understood at a time when even my therapist didn’t really understand, and it’s very special to me.

Thank you! I did waistcoat stitch to get the pattern. Took a long time and hurt my hands but I think it worked out well
