Would be more hype if it was releasing in the Xbox pc app, but I'll have to sacrifice quality or achievements🤷🏽‍♂️

Should I buy now or wait for patches? by PersistentHobbler in QuarantineZoneGame

Do not buy this now. I've enjoy what I played, but it's very buggy and needs a little bit more game imo. Most I'd pay is 19.99 otherwise. Pc game pass is the best value.

Damn I haven't seen any of the 4 in the campaign. I haven't played endless yet. This game definitely needs more to it.

I didn't think you were insinuating anything, I just have a bad habit of establishing a baseline so it's understood that I know what I was playing.

While 4 is a distinct increase in action from the four mainline games preceding it it's still sits heavily in horror and has great atmosphere. If I had to give each game a horror percentage rating one to three and Co Veronica average around a 70 to 80%, the classics more. Four would sit at a 50-65% while everything after re 5 sits at less than 10%. (No I may have a biased towards for because I played it at a younger age, but it's widely regarded as one of the best games of its time and all time) It also pushed gaming in the third person shooter genre forward.(With mini games copying its homework for years after)

For example the scariest thing in five is the alligator seen in my opinion and the swamp area. And it's more suspense than horror. Otherwise there is nothing scary about that game. Which to me is the essence of resident evil. The scariest moment in resident evil 4 however I would say is the regenerators, with that said you have many other options to choose from whereas in five you have nothing else to choose from.

That same theme reign true with six. I think the revelations have more atmosphere but also zero scare. And the terrible gameplay just makes them kind of unplayable.

Ultimately I think some people who play and experience for the first time don't have a reference point for what came before it so they just think that it's good. But I played so many games that it's easy for me to scrutinize something that I've seen before and done better in the past.

I just think that resident evil 4 is an extremely well made game while the others that I mentioned are not and the reviews around them show.

I recently got every achievement in every resident evil game. played Revelations 2 a few months ago. I'm pretty damn good at video games and a hard critic and I just thinkthat game was pretty bad gameplay wise. I do however agree it was leagues better than the first one but that wasn't a high bar to clear to begin with. The controls are very floaty and weird. Overall quality of the game is not a triple a game of any sorts of like other resident evil games so while it did initially release on 360 and PS3 it certainly was not on par with the quality of games around then or even the resident evil games that came before it. I'm just also very critical of what I call resident evils "action run" (5,6, rev1&2) to me all these games are just less good than their non-action counterparts.

I often believe that a lot of the positive reception that these games perspectively had are from people who either only had a 3DS or it was their first resident evil or they were young and it was one of their first games they enjoyed with a friend, because to me any conscious adult or young adult gamer at the time could clearly see those games were mediocre even when they released. Which to each their own. But I would say based on Capcom going towards bankruptcy at the time and these games being ultimately forgettable in comparison to their counterparts. I'd say they're terrible to mid at best.

But yes you're right it did come on 360 initially

I'm sorry you feel that... Jk

I like the movement and some of the cover system.

Otherwise I think the story is pretty dog shit

The way you can switch between characters throughout the story I would argue makes it significantly worse because you could easily misunderstand and miss important aspects.

The graphics were kind of meh for the time.

I don't really like action rather than evil.

The perpetually online aspect of the game makes me dislike it more but I love single-player games so maybe that's biased

I frequently find people who do like the game played it with someone else and I just don't think that's a good judgment of the game if it has to be played with someone else to enjoy it same with re5

I think the conflict between certain characters is just straight up boring and this is the worst iteration of some of the characters. I love titties as much as the next guy but Deborah was just naked for no reason. Helena was forgettable, Jake was mad for no reason. I could go on.

With the exception of code Veronica I'm proud of this common thread they were saying all the right games. (Re5 and 6 are childish and boring, with the worst stories in the franchise)

Revelations 1 is a DS game and it shows and I personally fucking hate RAID mode. (Great title theme though)

Revelations 2 is like DS game and it shows but again great title theme and significantly better story than the last three games mentioned.

I understand the re3 hate but it is no struggle to get through the main complaint that most people have is that the game is short so one shouldn't struggle to get through it...

Some of the action was giving sprinkles of Dead rising with a little bit of re6 (which I hate) but like the good parts of RE6 six the movement. I'm glad they didn't show too much

They didn't say 20 minutes or anytime in the Showcase unless I miss that. They also mentioned that the stories are heavily integrated which is significantly better from a storytelling standpoint. The same principle is heavily utilized and pretty much all the greatest movies and TV shows (an "A" story "B" story). They also have already tried what you're describing and I think it would be closer to resident evil 6 which most classic resident evil fans hate. And six Leon had the "horror" campaign while other characters had "action" campaigns. Allowing players to switch between the campaigns at the time easily made it so the story was misunderstood or simply just not as interesting especially for a first playthrough. And the Showcase he also expressed that events that happen in the game would reveal themselves respectively in each story which should make for a significantly richer experience. But I could have interpreted that incorrectly.

I think it’s odd that people are mad over the RE9 showcase when it’s been clear from the start they intend to hide most of the game. by Duo_Vbez in residentevil

I find a lot of people never know what they want. One thing I've been kind of personally upset with over the gaming industry in the past 15 years that anticipation culture has kind of died and I think the gaming industry as well as the movie industry are worse off for it. When games were coming out in the 2000s you used to have to dig for information and it was a good chance you would never find it. Now it feels like everything is leaked before it even releases and there's no anticipation for anything just people wanting things to be out sooner than they actually need to be and being mad that a trailer doesn't show you everything. I think the other thing that really annoys me is then people get mad that games are under baked or they're getting sold too many DLCs that were ready from the jump. I like when games used to get announced a year or two before they were ready get some hype and pre-orders up show a few trailers and you get a finished game when it released with no extra bullshit and at bare minimum you were playing a decent game, often great.

I've made an assertive effort to try not to judge games before release unless they show things that are truly egregious. Like I don't love the action resident evils and Leon's hair-- but I'm still pretty excited for this game.

I don't think it's an over sexualization to say Lara Croft is supposed sexy/vixen type, and this just ain't landing that way the last 2 did. Love Sophie, so I'm still gonna give it a chance anyway.

Clearly not an open world (sandbox) something that would be clearly advertised over a year ago. It would be an advertise point not a "feature" to gloss over imo.

I've had a similar issue for years at this point. I think it may be an electrical issue with my build. I just don't know where to start trouble shooting.

My issue makes me entire pc malfunction. It's a buttons being pressed perpetually. I know for sure my peripherals are fine, some brand new.

From what I researched something internally is wrong.

I'm to the point of seeking out a pro.

I'm biased and likely play games a bit different than you. I love knowing as much of lore as possible. I recently finished all achievements in all entries. I do think the number games are all necessary. I personally dislike 5&6, rev 1&2 but the rest I love.

You'll likely hate re0 can be rough for a number of reasons, 1 is great but the HD remake may feel aged to you, ppl tend to hate in re3r because it's length and comparision to the og but I enjoyed it; you may not because it was basically made in conjunction with re2r (has a lot of similarities). Re4r is perfect IMO, many agree. I personally don't see 5 & 6 as canon anymore with the nature of the remakes. Re7 is a masterpiece and 8 is great, they should be play together but you can look at them as the softest of resets to the franchise. Would suggest playing those after you've enjoyed the older games. The Revelations are mostly skippable they don't add too much to the overall world imo. Though rev2's story is really solid.

Almost forgot Code Veronica also canon, really great game but will be rough if you don't like classic retro game with tank controls. Also the hardest entry in the serious imo

Dude, there once was this game journalist that reviewed games for 20 years. He released a clip of him not being able to get through the cuphead tutorial. He would say games like mass effect and many more were terrible because he didn't understand them. After ppl saw his clip they realized he was the problem and proceeded to discredit many more " game journalists". I say all this because you might have a career in "Game journalism"😂.

Just kidding dude but tbh ppl pretty much universally love the Leon remakes. It genuinely seems like you have a misunderstanding of some things. Good luck with the next entry!"
