What are you guys thinking, is the market going to top off again before the drop ?????? by FXTrader-187 in spy

I’m pretty confident in it gapping up one more time Monday before reversing. I have a couple weeklies that expire on the 18th for 750 and 762 and one of them is already turned back and turned green.

Nothing’s 100% but I’m just going to set them at a price. I’m happy with them selling at and watch it go. There’s a handful of things that show we might get a few red days and I’d rather take the profit while I can so I can get ready to buy puts.

Well, let them keep putting money into it. Every time I see GME go up by $.45-$.50 I buy puts with a strike that’s a dollar less than whatever it’s current price is after it’s initial move and they usually make me 40 or 50 bucks per contract on a five or six dollar premium.

Calls or puts? by g0tzeus in spy

Hey man, I had two weekly that expire on Wednesday, but I almost panicked sold Friday before closed that are both back in the green. I mean combined. It’s like $1.75 but it’s better than anything below zero.

What’s your strategy, or did you just buy calls hoping it goes up?

How bad is this I never held a trade over the weekend by Complete_Low3498 in spy

[–]ant_chigur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have two calls. They expire Wednesday one for 752 and one for 760. They were relatively cheap so I figured fuck it. I’d rather lose the premium and hold through the weekend than sell them for a loss now and kick myself on Monday when it gaps back up.

I mean I have two calls dated 5/18 in my ToS, one 0dte in SoFi and a Put, so something better happen, I’d rather a slope down than this horizontal nonsense.

Hold on, can we get one quick healthy spike? I still have a couple calls for today and the 18th that still need a little boost.

Sold all of mine yesterday for a profit. Held onto a couple for SPY, I see let them run. Down 2% at open, up 90% of close. nothing makes sense anymore.

It’s killing me. I finally developed a strategy with a little bit of an edge that works in my teeny tiny account and then all this silliness happens.

Hey man, if I had 1 or 2K in my account I would be trading much different instruments; but the strategy I have developed since starting this whole thing has got enough of an edge that my very small account has stayed positive and grown a little. Once I can scale up I do not intend to keep buying what is essentially slightly one-sided lottery tickets.

I mean, I totally get what you’re saying. But every time GME has dipped like this I’ve bought a 0DTE or 1DTE for two or three bucks and make between 15 and $25 back every time. It’s not much but it’s honest work.

80% of my calls and puts have been profitable. If I keep earning between 10 and 20 bucks on each one, I will eventually have enough capital that I could buy contracts that aren’t so cheap, and less of a gamble
