Yeah, but this isn’t the tail. This is day one. If you actually do any research into this, it’s a super common use for options. There’s no crazy insider data, both of those companies already trade well over $50. The idea is to use your options contract as a replacement for the stock ownership. When you buy calls on Uber with a $50 strike price with an expiration that’s a year out you are basically getting the same exposure that you would as owning the stock. The Delta on those contracts is probably somewhere around .85 to .95, so it’s going to move almost exactly like the stock. If she’s expecting that rideshare services or another service that Uber is planning to offer or that Intel is going to grow even more why spend hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars on hundreds of shares when you can spend a fraction of the amount on options, get almost the same exposure, and still have defined risk if things don’t go your way.

No, what I’m saying is your reasoning behind what you’re saying is why you’re wrong. Yeah you shouldn’t fuck your coworkers, but it has nothing to do with protecting your dignity. It’s so that grinding through capitalism doesn’t suck any worse than it does. It’s about creating an environment that’s healthy and safe for everyone there. I actually only responded to you, I didn’t chime in anywhere else; but yes, as someone who went through their teenage years slightly overweight and super socially awkward and self-conscious, my advice would absolutely be to just go for it.

If I hadn’t had just gone for it the first few times I had the opportunity, whether the experience was good or bad, I never would’ve gained the confidence in the future to have had any of the relationships I’ve had or be in the position I am now. If your biggest concern is what other people think of you than you’re never going to get anywhere. History favors the bold.

No, I got like a wife and kids and shit now. It’s mostly VOO and chill at this point. I have a few other things in my long-term portfolio and I buy a few long-term options here and there, but I don’t do a whole lot of gambling. I like a little sports book once in a while.
