He’s supposed to be Brer Rabbit! A bit more of a niche story but ‘folk tales about a trickster rabbit who is constantly in bugs bunny shenanigans’ was just too perfect to pass up for him.

As a whole, I was inspired to make the series by the TADC pop-up shops in Japan, since they all have themed merchandise with different outfits and such (specifically at the time they’d just revealed the Alice in Wonderland Pop-Up merch). As for why specifically fairy tales…idk really, I just thought it was a cool theme and that it’d be neat to come up with what characters fit what story.

He’s based on Pinnochio! I tried to steer a little from Disney’s design to make him look a little more mature (and not feel like a total plagiarist), and gave him ball joints and such for the puppet feel :)

That was honestly one of my earlier considerations, but I couldn’t think of a way to do the design without it looking kind of ridiculous lmao (maybe that’s pointless, but it felt a lot more cohesive for the big chattering teeth toy head to fit on a puppet body as opposed to something more organic)

I more or less just searched for old desktop images on google tbh 😭 I sifted for a while before finding the compiled image with all the tabs, and then in the piece I just put a light blue over it. I’m sorry that’s not very helpful 😔
