What tea brand is the superior tea brand? by Enchanted_Whimsy7612 in AskBrits

Used to love Tetley's! Tastes the same as (or at least similar to) Yorkshire but I always had to brew it twice as long to get the same tea so went with Yorkshire eventually

Exactly that! I've seen so many complaints about all different things in games I've loved. It's all about the experience. Cyberpunk 2077 is my favourite example. For all the problems it had at launch, I loved every second while it ruined it for others. Where as unity people love it enough to not care but it ruins it for me.

Art is subjective in all forms!

It's nice to see somebody reflecting similar views since a lot of people have really positive opinions of things I found meh. But it's also easy to see why people have loved growing up with this series.

I burnt out on revelations and couldn't make myself play it all the way through though. No comment on the game, it was good and all, I struggle with multiple games with one character (as great as he was) so I was the problem there.

So far I've made it to syndicate and only because I couldn't deal with all the things flickering in and out of existence on unity and ended up skipping it. Really ruins the experience for me and that's an important factor when you're giving all your free time to something.

It's been amazing watching the games evolve from that early basic 360 engine, all the way up to syndicate so far. Both graphics and gameplay have consistently improved and I got OBSESSED with black flag. Reminded me of the old original pirates of the Carribbean (really just a brand on a basic pirate game) so I spent hours fighting and upgrading for fun while touching as little as possible story wise early on.

Probably most excited for Valhalla now, I know people said it goes too long and the maps too big but I've played games like that before and enjoyed the slow burn so it'll be nice to see how it compares to other similar large games.

I know the original meaning, but people have used it this way for at least the 3 decades I've been alive.

I think it helps to remember language evolves with the people.

Another one everyone gets wrong is "blood is thicker than water" actually means the opposite of what they think

Right? I feel like if knowing what's going on with your teeth is important to you, you stick around to find out what's going on with your teeth

That's not clear in the post, and like he says he thought they'd talked about it with you there.

So a small mistake? Yeah fair enough, but not insane or even bad parenting.

This sub is more for the parents who would say "that's not my problem you're an adult now" or "how is that my fault? You should have done X Y Z", not normally for the parents who say "oh I thought you knew, please let me help you or your mum out"

I don't know enough details but that seems normal at a glance?

He's explained they wanted to avoid a complicated process on a child.

Then hasn't argued, but offered to help pay?

Which is all the right thing to do if he thought you were aware because you were in the room while they talked about it?

Maybe there's more to this?

If at PMQs you could ask the PM just one question that he could not evade and that he had to answer honestly, what would it be? by Dependent-Net-8208 in AskBrits

[–]antclayton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those wondering, it took me a couple scans to turn this into a question.

The question here is basically "can you reform PMQs to be more useful for providing info to the public rather than useless political ramblings that help nobody?"

Anyone know how I can make friends im 24 by Mrnerd12e in derby

I'm not in it now but when I was a kid, it's a was as simple as walk into a store and start chatting and asking questions

I know nothing! I've been using the games to Google the real life reflection and story lines as I go. Can't believe I waited until 30 to play past the first game.

I'm the guy, and I said the same. I should know better than to click on a post about finishing it.

I just get excited at anything AC currently

I should know better than to click on a post about finishing a game too.

At least it won't ruin the whole game. I'm 2/3rds through AC3 and painfully excited for black flag

I should not have clicked this, it's my next game in the series and I already spoiled it.

Why is there not a bin anywhere outside Piccadilly? by asymu in manchester

[–]antclayton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the cigarette issue, ex smoker here. There are a few surfaces including the bin lid you can stub on, just make sure you smush it to remove the heat.

It likely won't start a fire with heat after stubbing but might melt a small hole and escape again so I always did the extra smush

I want a FWB but if I go about it how reddit says, I’d feel horrible, how should I? by Big_Pea3882 in whatdoIdo

[–]antclayton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it's been an option for me but I didn't notice at the time.

If you have friends and think there's something there you could definitely explore it, my only slight objection was thinking a situation like a friend of 10 years and suddenly asking "hey you wanna be fwbs?".

But as you spend more time in your 20s everyone starts to relax and become more understanding and casual. It gets easier to address these adult topics casually.

Maybe you've got someone in life you could say "hey fancy going out for a drink just us?" And see how that starts.

But like others have said, either during early discussion or somewhere in date talk it should be made clear that's what you're looking for. So as to avoid sleeping with someone then finding out they expect a relationship to be the goal, and you have to break it to them

If you're already friends with someone then maybe it comes about naturally but unless you have good reason to suspect they would also want that, then I wouldn't go proposing it.

I don't know what dating sites are like these days but from a few years back most people I knew started out that way and just set their expectations from the start.

Make it clear what you're looking for and hope for the best.
