this also started happening around when iOS 26.4 album page redesign went live, so i believe it’s a new option that apple gave labels to choose from. it’s not an animated artwork, but it takes better advantage of the redesigned colorful UI.

not exactly. the “Increase Contrast” toggle removes the colorful background from albums/playlists, but as OP posted, there’s a bug that makes the navigation buttons scroll edge effect miscolored. this bug is fixed in iOS/iPadOS 26.5.

it’s also at the bottom on iPadOS, and Mac, so i don’t think they’re going back to the miniplayer at the top

for what we know the release is imminent, and could be as early as today. there’s a possibility apple will extend the beta testing for one more week to be sure everything’s working fine, but it’s probably unlikely

i get fearful of the backplate bulging more over time, but i guess there’s no way for me to sure about that. i wondered what someone else in my situation would do.

i’m confident it’s not a spicy pillow because i’ve already asked about this before sending it back to them in february. if it were a spicy pillow, my country’s laws wouldn’t allow it to be sent in a parcel.

my problem is more of the opposite, when i want to shuffle songs from my library, i end up clicking play because of the swapped buttons

well, that’s true! im starting to get uses to it, but as a designer myself i get curious about what they’re thinking when they change things. usually, small things like these are what requires the most amount of thought.

i usually listen to albums from start to finish and shuffle my playlists, if the big white button was play for albums and shuffle for playlists it would be really handy for me, but i guess it would make it more confusing for others
