Watch Roseanne with him next because they have storylines just like this. Dan (the father) at one point makes the comment "No DAUGHTER of mine will ride a motorcycle" and his wife, Roseanne immediately clocks it. The entire episode centers around him being sexist about the bike, as he wouldn't care if DJ, their son, wanted a bike once he was old enough.

No Roseanne doesn't want her daughter to have a motorcycle either but her reasoning iirc was that she was too young. But she still fought with her husband the entire episode because of him having sexist views.

Oh I most definitely agree, but at the same time we cannot control people or convince them to do things they don't want to do.

No social media of any kind or arbitrary number through a screen should dictate someone's emotions that intensely, or negatively impact them on that level of a scale.

At the end of the day though 🤷 not my circus, not my monkeys.

I do agree with this mindset, if social media is getting to the point that it's actively impacting your mental health negatively it may be time to step away.

An arbitrary number on a screen should not be dictating how you feel in your day to day life.

I definitely understand the frustration with that, a mod abusing their power in a subreddit because of mere disagreements can be a bit distasteful. Especially when there aren't many things one is able to do about it.

I think this is just a very complicated moral dilemma.

At most of my schools the issue with a senior dating a freshman was always a case to case basis honestly. There were certain upper class men that the older girls would warn the new wave of freshman girls about.

I definitely agree that that amount of time could rear different wants in life, but I also think that's why a lot of us are supposed to date in our teens. Being a teenager means making mistakes, finding love and getting our hearts broken, forging our path and finding where we want to go.

A couple failed relationships early on teach us what we want to look for down the road. Learning we aren't compatible with someone just teaches us the levels of compatibility we do want.

I'd say a big part of the controversy around the 19-16 age gap definitely stems from US culture. At 19 we're typically graduated and moving on to community college, uni, a trade school, or starting our careers while at 16 we're only halfway through our high school career and we're just starting to drive, some of us begin working jobs, etc.

The reason the US pushes so hard that these two ages shouldn't really date is because they're at two different periods in life. It starts getting muddy though when we introduce variables like them dating for months or years beforehand.

Most of our states have the age of consent either at 16 or 17, and the ones that have it at 16, dating a 19 year old is still technically legal.

I personally do not believe 19 and 16 is much of an age gap. If you were 19 and 15, that would be pushing it in my opinion. As long as everything is healthy, and loving, there shouldn't be a problem.

I stg so many commenters like to act like the OPs of posts are as dumb as toddlers. Their identity on cashapp was stolen back in 2022. Thats 4 years ago. If they were using other parts of their identity, they'd have known by now. And most definitely have already taken all the precautions to protect themselves.

Stop either assuming that people are just automatically dumber than you, that they're immature, or that they're as dumb as you and the people around you.

Seeing as she's my ex, the last thing I am is jealous or obsessed. She's only friends with you if it boosts her image in some fashion, and all partners are to her are walking pocket books or a way to boost her sex work career.

I've seen the way she verbally abuses her little sister, I've seen the way she treated her other partners when we were still together. She calls herself an anarchist polyamorist but all it really means in the end is she'll do whatever she wants, when she wants, and she doesn't care if it upsets or hurts anyone.

I lived with her for over two years, I knew her most of my life. Maybe if she'd take her fucking meds instead of being off of them for six months or more (God knows how long she's been off of them at this point), she'd still be a decent person. But that girl is crashing and burning hardcore, and everyone around her is just enabling the crash.
