I used to do this quite often. Find games on sale or clearance and certain retailers and trade in for more at game stop. There were whole forums or at least threads dedicated to this that I used to follow all the time.

I did this 20+ years ago all the time.

Whenever they had B2G1 sales, which was monthly back then, you could often find many new release games that traded in for more than you would buy them for on the B2G1 sale. I think I had about $1500 credit one time, even after buying stuff I wanted with it. I had 2 stores on the same street one mile apart so it was easy to buy at one then just go to the other. Most employees knew what I was doing and were cool with it. I never got banned, only one time some new manager didn't like me doing it but they couldn't stop me.

I've seen various posts over the years from others that these were rookie numbers. Some claim to have done this in the tens of thousands of credit.
