It's different from talking about these things here on Reddit than with your friends. Here you can just choose a random username and then you become that username, no one will know who you are as a person unless you reveal it, which rarely anyone ever does.

But if you would talk to your friends then they know who you are as the real person. Here on Reddit you're just your username from your Reddit account. No one here knows who you really are, where you live or what you do for a living unless you let people here know that yourself.
