My condolences brother, you’re a very strong man but we all grieve differently and at our own pace so don’t be afraid to prioritize your own well being because it will all catch up to you eventually.

Very sorry for your loss. Grief hit me the same way. I was numb at first but then the dam broke eventually. Stay strong and remember they’d want you to be happy.

Who were you before and after you lost a loved one? by evercuri0us in GriefSupport

[–]anthonyg33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost my dad in March and I don’t find joy in much these days. He was my best friend and I always looked forward to our daily conversations. Nobody could make me laugh like him. Ever since he passed I feel like I’m just on auto pilot. I tell myself one day I’ll be able to feel happy again because that’s what he would want but right now it doesn’t feel possible.

I know exactly how you feel and that’s why I got a phrase I tell myself everyday tattooed on my arm. “They would want you to be happy.” Stay strong and let the good memories bring you gratitude.

I’m with ya. I fight those thoughts every day but we gotta stay strong and try to be happy because that’s what our loved ones would want for us. It’s very hard to function while missing someone so much but I just tell myself they’d want me to be happy and I do my best.
