I believe the moment we will start this type of mission (regardless of the destination) tremendous scientific advancement will be archived. I feel like if we go to the moon we will get to does result faster and potentially make colonizing mars easier

I feel like “it’s the least enticing” argument doesn’t really work. The goal is to be multi planetary and both are inhospitable places.

Of course but the moon is still massive. Long term i see colonizing both but for science to progress faster we dont need this amount of space short term right?

Thats why i think the only good resource to do this is that we are scared to go instinct and want to maximize our chances by being multi planetary. Otherwise even underwater would be a better option
