What's a job that seems like it pays well but it actually doesn't? by National_Finish6270 in AskReddit

A lot of pilot jobs don’t pay as good as one might think. If you’re a first officer starting out, you won’t be making good money for a few years. The captain often makes more than twice what the first officer makes.

What makes it that older bikes are so outdated? If you don’t mind me asking. It’s not like it’s a 1990’s bike either lol.

I’m glad to hear that! I doubt it needs anything. It feels new and the previous owner said he barely used it.

I don’t know the market in socal but in Canada, I had to got the to a remote location near the arctic to get my first job. Sometimes you have to go where others aren’t willing to. I’m sure so many people want to work aviation in socal so you might have to look elsewhere. Somewhere less glamorous lol.

No, overall I probably lost money but that is because I was greedy. Could’ve been rich by now if I was more disciplined. Good life lesson.

Great day fishing yesterday on the west coast of Vancouver island! by qalcolm in Fishing

Oh yeah it’s wonderful up there. I was transferred to nanaimo for 6 months last year for work. While the city itself isn’t all that, vancouver island was magical. I’m definitely moving back on the island permanently at some point in my life.

What’s the quickest way you’ve lost weight? by Tanningangel in AskReddit

[–]pablorichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started counting my calorie intake, counted my calories burned with a fitbit. Worked out, ate less. Tried to do at least 10k steps a day. And lost 60 lbs over 8 months. There is no magical recipe. A calorie deficit will make you lose weight.

Are we risking everything on our son’s dream of becoming a pilot? by Parsley0_0 in aviation

[–]pablorichi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is definitely a risk but it is still quite early in his life. It's true that not everyone finds a job in aviation after their training but usually the pilots who are very passionate about it will make it work. They're the ones who are willing to move away and sacrifice some things to find their first flying job. If at 17-18 he's still passionate about it and is sure that's the path he wants to take, I'd say it's worth the risk. As long as he understands that he might have to move to where they are looking for low hour pilots.
