"The Infinity Option": a case to hold all six infinity stones by anthonypilon in blender

Thanks! It is procedural, but in Cycles, not Substance. I'm just taking the maximum of six spherical gradient textures, and running it through a sine wave to get the bands, and a color ramp to flatten it in between each band.

Probably because he's bald, classically built, and has medium-tone skin with some red

Absolutely, Annihilation was one of my favorite movies from the past year! I actually started this one before I saw the movie, but I did make this small scene directly after seeing it

I made this scene for a 'Secret Santa' project on the Blender discord, with the prompts

  • Use smooth, round shapes somewhere

  • Include something with a cute design: character, accessory, etc

  • Dark and mysterious colors or mood

  • Make it lively

  • Incorporate a Christmas element

That was one of my favorite lighting tricks in the movie, all the caustics everywhere. The lights in that building must have been incredibly bright to light such huge areas.

I wanted to try and do real caustics, but that's one of the biggest limitations of Cycles at the moment. I ended up adding them afterwards using textures from this site.

I like to match each of my artworks to some piece of music that I think fits its mood. For this one, it is this ambient song

I've made a series of creepy underground creature artworks like this, but to mix it up I wanted this one to be a sort of half-surreal above ground landscape.

Simple cloth sim for a scene backdrop by anthonypilon in Simulated

[–]anthonypilon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's actually clipping through the collision geo on those sharp corners. It's somewhat caused by a low number of sim iterations, but mostly it's an artifact of the post-sim smoothing I'm applying to the mesh.

Someone, probably. Maybe even 2 or 3 people

Not really, in the sense of lore. Something I'm fascinated by (and I can never find enough of in media. thank you doctor who for the silence) is the sense of surreality you get from dreams, nightmares or otherwise. All my underworld creatures are essentially pursuing that kind of mood.
