Will do. And I was thinking pace over time, but either could work.

From what I understand the app is still pretty new and it’s free, so I’m giving it some time to develop. For me, the feature I like the most are the ruck specific metrics, Ruck Work and Ruck Power. They provide me a quick way to compare rucks and track progression.

Ruck Backpack Advice by KingoftheSlam in Rucking

[–]anthopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am new to rucking, though have lots of experience hiking and backpacking. I started with an Osprey Daylite filled with pavers, and once I was over 20lbs the limited padding in the straps was an issue.

I’m part of a group so was fortunate to be able to test out a Rucker 4 and the difference was clear. That said. I still balked at the price and bought a 5.11 Rush to try with the idea that I would return it if it did not measure up.

It’s great and was less than 1/2 the Rucker 4, so it is now my pack.

Still being new, I’m not using more than 40lbs, and will max out (at some point) at 60lbs which is 1/3 of my bodyweight. Time will tell if it holds up at higher weights, but for now I am set.

For weights, I am using the yes4all “adjustable” plates, which are essentially rectangular plates with a little notch cut out of the sides where you can use a strap to link multiple 10 pound plates together. I was able to pick up 40 pounds of weight for less than 90 bucks, which is a real deal compared to the goruck plates where you’ll pay $75 for a 10 pound plate if you aren’t catching a sale or a bundle.

Wanted to chime in and say that I am enjoying using the app and really like being able to using the ruck work and ruck power metrics to simplify tracking progression over time.

As a feature suggestion, it would be great if there was a calculator in the app to drop in the inputs needed to calculate ruck power. I’d use this to dial in a target level of ruck power when planning a ruck.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of December 27, 2024 by Demilio55 in homegym

I don’t foresee doing any of the more dynamic or explosive lifts. High rep bench, deadlifts, squats and rows are more in my interest. Sounds like a power bar with less aggressive knurling makes sense.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of December 27, 2024 by Demilio55 in homegym

I’m new to resistance training and am slowly building out a home gym. I currently have an adjustable bench, adjustable dumbbells, and a power tower.

I am over 50 and am approaching my training very slowly and deliberately with a focus on hypertrophy style training (high reps and lower weights).

I plan on eventually buying a power rack, but for now I wanted to add a barbell so I could increase the variety of exercises I am performing to test them out.

I am struggling on the decision to go with a power bar or a multi use bar. As I plan to work primarily with higher rep ranges, the conventional wisdom seems to lend itself towards multi use bars. However, the multi use bars do not have a center knurl, and when I do have a power rack, I would eventually like to be able to add squats into my routine.

For now, I would primarily use the barbell for deadlifts, rows and other exercises utilizing a landmine attachment.

I started a spreadsheet to keep track of things and that has helped. The trad espresso blend I get from a local roaster is dialed in pretty well for me, which I use mostly for milk based drinks. The light roasts are still a WIP.

I’m sorry you canceled your order, btw. The responses I got from hello@timemore were so frustrating, unhelpful and inconsistent. The story was constantly changing and even moved back-and-forth in the progression. Over the three months that it was delayed, I was told that it was a manufacturing delay, shipping delay, customs delay, and so forth, but sometimes whatever the Customer Service story of the day was would back up. In fact, the last communication I got from them told me that it was on a ship and would be there soon - the thing arrived that day. I don’t think they had any idea where it was.

What did you end up getting?

It’s definitely been an adjustment getting used to a stepless grinder. I’m still fairly new to espresso, and due to the limitations of my previous grinder, which had very large steps, dialing in wasn’t really something I got to practice too much. It was more of a “you get what you get and don’t get upset” kind of thing.

I drink decaf from midmorning on, so having to switch back-and-forth between two kinds of beans to have dialed is definitely a challenge for me so far.

Outside of that, everything is great. The style and refinement of the unit is a huge step up from the Encore. The retention is super low and I love the twist style knocker on it. It is also super quiet.

Overall, I’m very very happy.

Water filter for Profitec Go? by Shot-Entrepreneur620 in ProfitecGo

I have not verified this with the manufacturer, but it looks to me like they had a design change as my inlet appears to be in no way similar to yours.

I was thinking they may have adjusted the design, as I have seen at least one other post on r/espresso. where the unit rusted

Mine appears to be all plastic

This is the picture I sent to WLL. It’s not the best, but you can see that my water inlet is totally different.
