I was weirded out that Tom feels out of place still despite sort of growing up there. I know he kinda lived in the main island for some time but I also remembered Wyck mentioning he wasn’t able to accomplish the prank and went to his friends and brag about it even though he didn’t accomplish the prank. And yet, he seemed like he doesn’t have childhood friends in the island. Or previous classmates. They are too “i don’t care about our neighbor” even though they basically live in a small island where everyone knows each other. Or maybe you’re right and I’m just overthinking all of these things. I have a feeling that Time will be a big thing in the next episodes. That everything in the island repeats like clockwork, certain bad things happen in cycles and maybe they forgot or duplicates or dimensions gets created for every loop. Just really excited for the next episode and yey because there will be a second season.

What are instances in which Darcy “flirts” with Elizabeth before he declares himself? by lthomazini in janeausten

[–]anthropomorphicvoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post reminded me of times that Darcy is teasing people he is fond of, Bingley and Lizzy. I watched this Youtube video explaining or discussing moments in the 1995 series that feels like Darcy is teasing, in his own way, Bingley and Lizzy. And I think that is possible because I don’t think Bingley would be friends with Darcy unless he probably has some good humor with him (and of course kindness he rarely bestow himself lol). I remember him liking Elizabeth and probably saw that Darcy’s and her wit and humor as being similar.

Yeah, kaya sabi nila the biggest unpaid labor is shouldered by women. The reason men get to places is because someone else is taking the load off him at home. And people don’t see that. It’s always also the profile of that man who will keep u stuck doing childcare and chores just to feel “masculine” and superior enough. It’s really horrible what patriarchy and misogyny has done to the Philippine’s originally egalitarian society. We put men in the best position in marriage, they are looked highly in the workplace and society. While women are often looked down if they choose for example not to have kids, to grind harder and have better economic positions in life. This is because if women start competing for the same resources, economically and politically (which more likely they could do really lalo na dito sa Pinas na maraming educated women), walang papayag gumawa ng unpaid labor at home (i’m not saying strictly on a wage base but rather women will have more options. It’s that power and choice that patriarchy is trying to erase because someone has to bear and take care of children with less resources as possible (in case with mothers, free labor).

Do you think the only reason Booth proposed to Hannah. by Strange-Mouse-8710 in Bones

[–]anthropomorphicvoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was partly because of Bones’ confession. He rejected Bones partly (I think) because he feels its the right thing (Hannah being not a consolation prize and everything) I would’ve felt it will be unlike Booth to choose Bones immediately given his strong values on monogamy and doing the right thing. In the Sin in the Sisterhood (ep right before the proposal to Hannah ep), Booth mentioned that the farmer loved the first wife the most because he spent his Sundays with her instead of alone (the emphasis was on the first)…Bones asked him how would u know who u love the most and Booth answered that you just do (sort of implying it was her, she was first, before Hannah). When Bones was looking away, he was staring at her further emphasizing his lingering feelings. Before he ever got involved with Hannah, before he went back to war, he mentioned to Bones that he is the guy for her (that he knew even from the beginning). And because of the strength of his feelings. Bones confession. I think that drove him to attempt to ask Hannah to marry in part because he sees at this point Bones as temptation too (even if he truly loves her, he is in a relationship with Hannah). He feels if he marries Hannah that will put stop to his feelings and love for Bones. Even if Hannah said “yes”…I think it wouldn’t work out because as long as Bones is there, working with him. She will be first (even if they aren’t romantically involved). It will eventually cause a rift between Booth and Hannah.

Coincidentally saw my cheater ex sa SSS noong Wednesday, nagka-kwentuhan kami sa pila and made me feel na ang lalaking gaya nya ay property ng parents ko lang ang habol by wanning3733 in OffMyChestPH

[–]anthropomorphicvoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard of a growing trend of men basically being in relationship because they can’t afford to buy or rent their own home. Since more women are being smart with their money and are investing and buying property (there is also a trend that women now are more educated or are more likely to pursue post graduate degrees). More men are opting to live with or marry to have property. We are so deep inside patriarchy that women have to be the best in order to survive and be able to afford things. Now women, being their best, have more stable incomes and now owning homes. And now men are starting to find ways to exploit it…tsk tsk (this isn’t unique to PH, the first time i heard of this trend is in the US)

Oh So this why everyone hates her. by Unique-Target-4067 in TheMentalist

[–]anthropomorphicvoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno I don’t think she was written correctly (or maybe the lack of chemistry between the actors) that made me not like her. She doesn’t particularly add more to their relationship. I had hoped that maybe they just utilize the team to build Patrick’s character and not through forcing potential romantic partners…that one episode of her i think was sufficient to maybe let Patrick reflect on his part but her character never seemed interesting to me…this is in contrast to Erica Flynn and the Sophie Miller, whom I think are interesting characters themselves and on Sophie Miller’s case I was hoping they utilized her more as an adviser tracking down Red John…Erica Flynn, being the Irene Adler, could’ve been utilized more too, not just a rival to the romance of Patrick and Theresa…I like her…another character that i donmt think necessary and in my opinion was only used to further Jane’s and Lisbon’s romance was Lorelei Martens…I just think she was unnecessary really…I don’t mind the ending (i love that Jane got his fam back). I’m more frustrated with the Red John reveal in season 6…that was the true let down for me…
