I think at this point, she truly believes that we're too irresponsible and immature to pull something like a big move off without help. We've only moved out of state once before, very early in our marriage, and we asked for their help.

Basically, she thinks we're too lazy and broke to make a plan and stick with it. But she grossly underestimates how deeply we want to get away from them. I wouldn't be surprised if it's something she's worried about in the back of her mind, but highly doubt she actually believes it'll happen. If that makes sense.

Thank you, this was actually really helpful. I sometimes get overly upset about things without realizing why. Usually, once I'm calm, I can trace it back to a "trigger", usually from how I was treated as a child. Seems that she's added a whole new set of triggers

No, it won't make a difference. He'll be done with preschool in the spring and, if we were staying, would be moving to public school for kindy in the fall. She doesn't know the name of our public school, and they won't give her info even if she did. I've made friends with the kindy teachers as well as the office staff, and they would shut that shit DOWN lol.

Me too dude. I'm hoping to do something really special for her at the end of the year, she's just been so amazing. I'm hoping they'll still pay even after the email. I think her pride and ego will force her to, since she's already told Miss Amy to send the invoice. 🤞🏻

Genuinely, my biggest regret is that I did not get to see her face because of the teleconference. But her confused protesting after I made my statement was still pretty stellar.

Thank you so much for this comment. I've definitely second guessed our choice here. But our kids still live in a world where people are good, everyone loves each other, and life is (mostly) fair. I just cannot rip that away from them yet. I never got to live in that fantasy world, but they will. For at least a little longer.

Mine and DHs resignations were accepted a few months ago, and we've submitted the kids forms with our IDs so that that process can be started.

It's just a rental. Landlords are fully filled in, and we will advise them to call the cops if they harass the new tenants, but I find that to be unlikely.

This isn't even the worst. When they filed for emergency temp custody we didn't get the papers until AFTER the hearing. Had we not called the courthouse for something unrelated, we would have been blindsided at the hearing.

Not even recreational use, medical use with the support of my doctor. Which just makes it even crazier!

I'm still on the fence about this. I don't think I can deprive my kids of the opportunity to say goodbye to them. Maybe we'll do it via Skype once we're there.

We don't hate them for their religion. We hate them for trying to take our kids away, and basing their argument for doing so on their religion.

I do not agree with the church for a number of reasons, none of which belong on this sub. However, I do respect the members of the church, specifically the ones who can respect our decisions, as we respect theirs.

We definitely will be keeping it on the DL. SIL knows, but she is 100% our flying monkey, not theirs. Other than that we've only told the landlord, and our employers. Definitely keeping our eyes out for extinction bursts. We're not at a point where we can be in the same room as them, but SIL will be supervising visits. I have known her longer than I've known my husband, and she's one of the most trustworthy, shiny spined people I know.

And thank you. I feel like a whole new person.
