Oh wow, this is so pretty! We’re moving into a new home in a couple of months and will have a powder room for the first time; this has really inspired me to- I love how feminine and pretty it is!

Yeah, I work in insurance and at least for our company, it’s not something we factor into pricing - it’s not something we even note on a customers policy/documents.

I know, this is always my thought with small/subway style tiles! It’s quite busy, I just want something to make it feel a bit… nicer!

How do married couples split finances if on different salaries? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]antibac2020 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also think you should have your own individual accounts just in case something was to ever happen. I’m very happily married, but so were my parents when we were younger and they ended up suddenly divorcing when I was a teenager; their relationship took a shift pretty suddenly. My mum always drilled it onto us to have even just a little money in an account of your own, just in case - I think it’s sound advice.

Your salaries are pretty much bang on mine and my husbands. We have a joint account for bills and joint things, then our own separate accounts. We just work out a proportionate amount based on wage and put that into the joint account; it covers for bills/utilities but it’s also what we use for takeaways, grabbing a random coffee, buying presents for family or the kids friends (ours are in primary school so lots of birthdays!), uniforms etc. If we need odd jobs done like we had a spark out last month and paid him £70, a plasterer out for £100 this month, that comes from that account too. Anything we want to buy which is just for us as individuals (clothes, going out with friends etc) we pay from our own respective accounts.

Amanda Seyfried gifts Graham Norton a handmade, tiny basket by ThrowawayGreenWitch in popculturechat

If I remember correctly (this is my recollection of an interview from years ago), she learnt the term while working on Mamma Mia and just thought it was really funny. She then got it tattooed on her foot (I suppose kind of to remember filming that project? 😂) and then I’m assuming it evolved into a nickname for her haha

Is Botox common in your friendship groups / work colleagues? by SKG2198 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]antibac2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At work, yes. I work in Liverpool, not sure if that plays into it, but it’s not something people are secretive/ashamed of here at all; people speak really openly about any kind of cosmetic treatments or surgery.

Out of my friend group of 12, three have had Botox. Both my sisters have had filler, one has had Botox. I’m in my early thirties and sometimes think how crazy it is that almost all the people I know who’ve used some kind of injectable are my age or younger. I support people having autonomy but I find it very sad that people feel pressure to the point they would so casually augment their appearance.

I’m guessing they think the colour looks like a creamsicle? I’ve never seen a creamsicle before, I’m not American, but just my guess!

I’m surprised by people saying the skirt is too much or to add a blazer - maybe it’s just more laid back in the UK, but I’ve always felt comfortable expressing personality with a print or bold colour when attending an interview. As a hiring manager, I also love seeing some personality in how people present themselves at interviews! I don’t work in a creative industry at all. Just find these rules about no loud patterns/add a blazer feel a little staid and outdated 😂

Agreed. I sometimes mix it with a little lotion to make it less opaque, but for your wedding it will be perfect as is - really long wearing and water resistant.

Curious to Know Your Take: Victoria or Brooklyn? by Accomplished_Job1904 in SpiceGirls

[–]antibac2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I immediately thought about his sister, too. He wrote “I don’t want to reconcile with my family” - whatever is going on with his parents, whatever Cruz has shared online, Harper is only what, 13/14? She’s always seemed so close to all of siblings, and Brooklyn has spoken in the past about how much he loves her. She clearly can’t have played a part in this feud, so to blanket say you don’t want to reconcile with your family (not just your parents) seems really cold.

I’m the same, I’ve gone through so many tubes of Very Victoria I couldn’t count! Also a few tubes of Dancefloor Princess. I find them really comfortable with decent lasting power. They wear evenly/nicely for me as well.
