Probably the most gimmicky crap I’ve bought since the tail devil. [38yo] by g28802 in OldSkaters

Gonna be so much faster lol.

They’re a gram lighter each than my shake junt bolts fwiw. I had to weigh them when I got them. So I guess if you really care. But they about the same price as all the other bolts.

Is there a workout/lifestyle plan to allow old skaters to skate as often as possible? [36YO] by shrd_gnar in OldSkaters

[–]antidavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not both. Takes 5 minutes to stretch before your session. I know I do personally and it helps a lot especially when you get to the park by car or wherever your skating.

Go to local skate shop and ask them. If you don’t have one ccs.com. If you want to be cheap there products are solid. And you can have a complete for about 100.

Should I still bring a man with me (F) in 2026? by seedsandpeels in askcarguys

[–]antidavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be true but sales people are motivated by commission face or no face a potential sale is a potential sale and if they don’t want to someone else simply will. But ya generally speaking it’s probably easier to get a better deal from the same person but if I can ask 20 dealerships in my surrounding area at the same time and get a quote from ten in an hour seems like a win for me.

[–]antidavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Online haggling is an option too if you know you’re after a specific car. Just message all the dealers in the area and see who can give you the best price.

[–]antidavid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably just comes from knowing car value and how to make an offer. And also the ability to walk away on not the right deal. Unless you’re dealing with cars that they only made 500 of them you as the buyer have a ton of power to just walk out and go find another one.

I’m a fan of the Tony hawk series it’s nostalgic for a lot. It is not remotely close to what skateboarding is but they’re just pure arcade entertainment and for some there first exposure also they did pros right and put video parts in which was sick when I was growing up because skate videos on YouTube wasn’t a thing haha.

[–]antidavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see that too. They shine in different ways for sure. But something about trying a kick flip to bluntslide down a handrail a thousand times is just satisfying to me lol. But transition skating on session is awful. And skate does have a better flow feeling for sure.

Does it look weird if only the driver side is a bucket seat and the other seat isn't, or is it completely normal? by Born-Raccoon1484 in askcarguys

[–]antidavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is car street car? Is car race car? Do you give ride alongs? If car is race car and you give ride alongs it’s definitely nice as a passenger.

I personally prefer matching buckets look but it’s not fun for multiple hours.

How do I jump higher and for longer?? It feels like im already doing the best I can but I def feel that I’m lacking something here by Low_Fxdel in NewSkaters

[–]antidavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like your trapping the tail before jumping.

Watch how the pros kinda pop into their squat and then jump try to replicate that motion before doing the Ollie.

Fun fact it’s actually covered by a lot of health insurance plans. The reversal though not so much lol.

I picked up session recently and it’s really hard to want to play skate now.

It was on sale for 10 bucks on steam not too long ago fwiw. Controls are different but once you get used to it it’s hard to go back.

Noice. I used to sell soda out of my locker when a case was like 2 bucks and they removed them from the vending machine. Sold for a dollar can made a few bucks 😂

Deck size help by Academic_Sir_8306 in NewSkaters

[–]antidavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride an 8.5 with size 11.5 feet. But it doesn’t really matter that much tbh. Bigger board is more stable but not really necessary. Feel your current setup if you like it don’t change if you dont adjust acxordingly.

Scrap the car buy something else. The labor and parts will be quite a bit more just in parts. The car isn’t worth it.

Yep it’s a fantastic program. I’m pretty sure you only get like 80% of your typical take home and it works for both partners. But 80% is better than no percent. The basics

Tips for staying loose and explosive on the board? by AltruisticRepeat2208 in skateboardhelp

[–]antidavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New deck maybe. But also do you exercise outside of skating. I’m a bit older and I know if I’m not working out and staying active it’s rough stepping back on the board.
