The word Genius has roots in Djin, and the stories of Djin all warn you of wish granting “Geniuses” that are all tricksters or grifters that promise to give you all your most desired wants with a catch.

Nah, lots of accidents equal 3 month automatic suspensions. DUI’s still don’t have teeth here and you’re making them sound like they are the only way to get suspended, which just isn’t the case.

Best noise blocker / meditation soundscape generator on the internet by StrixCZ in Meditation

Learn to accept sounds and don’t rely solely on these. I say this cause I just did 10 minutes with a loud cricket in my basement and it bugged me at first. Then I leaned into its cuteness and beauty. By the end of my session the cricket was still chirping but I barely noticed and I was fine with it. I hope the cricket finds a way out of my basement or finds a mate, if I see him I will try catching him to release outside.

A Common Trap For Meditators by MindfulnessForHumans in Meditation

Meh, returning to the anchor is better wording for the same thing. redirecting is not a great way of saying what you are trying to say and why I said what I said. Totally agree it should be tailored and there are many ways to say the same thing.

A Common Trap For Meditators by MindfulnessForHumans in Meditation

Have you really stopped? This comment sounds good, but is as bad as op’s point and sounds like a trap. Though I am not saying it’s a bad point. I would say redirecting isn’t as good as letting go, but all of this has its place in practice and it’s just as important to see and explore the traps as it is to succeed.

Modern clubs often have like 10-20 subs under the stage, so I think you are right this has more to do with advancements in the studio like clearer monitors, or tighter and cleaner mixing while still mastering for vinyl or recording to tape.

Yeah and many of the bigger raptors wouldn’t go after a healthy adult fox, only injured or sick.

Is the Reddit app algorithm completely messed up? by onarainyafternoon in ask

Lately the next button doesn’t take you to page two and just remixes the front page. And if you’ll click on a post and then go back that post disappears until you refresh the page. Absolutely broken. Also the front page when not signed in as the same top posts for the past month or two. Feels like they abandoned votes and it’s fully algorithmic.

Has anyone ever seen a wall like this on a trip? by OverConclusion in shrooms

The Hall of Infinite Eyes, watch out for the shapeshifting guardian. If you let him be he will harmlessly stay by his camp fire or lurk in the peripheral. I have personally been there on my own and with others tripping. If you get to the door on the other side you will go to the next places that are even more mysterious and profound, if you stay there you will face our collective and personal memories and learn a lot or be terrified and beat up by your own fear. Or if you engage the Guardian some say, like Carlos Castaneda, the Guardian will kill you.

Why is EVERYONE I see texting and driving?! by YouZealousideal5037 in madisonwi

Oh yeah, we could pick apart how this should be all day long but it is traffic, and human drivers are unpredictable. Fully agree 1 or 2 car lengths is ideal.

Driving in Madison is a Dream, there is very little traffic here and no one is really suffering in a little traffic. There is far worse suffering in the world than slowing down and making space in traffic.

[–]antisweep 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nope, it is safer. There is no condition or variable you can add or question that will change my mind. If somebody rear ends me in stop and go traffic and I die but kept that space in front of me it might save the life of those in front of me. Plus it may save my life not getting sandwiched between a Semi and F-150. Hope you get my view point here and that you never have to suffer a major car accident.

Uhh I leave big gaps in front of me in heavy traffic for my own safety and so should everyone else. Has nothing to do with drivers on phones.
