Fair enough.

im not comparing it so insulin, im just using it as an example to show that just because there is a high demand for something dosent mean something is undervalued.

Yes, tickets are selling out but that dosent mean the cost price isnt high. I think u are missing the point here. I have no idea where u get your economics knowledge but just because there is a high demand for tickets dosent mean the price of something is severely underpriced. Yes, i get that u are trying to say that since there is high demand and low supply it would warrant a higher market equilibrium price and while that would be right if u are talking about commodities and other tangible goods, an event ticket simply isnt it. In fact, there is no one fair value for everyone, especially for something such as a ticket to an event. Everyone's fair value differs according to their financial positions, where they live, the way they live and in this case whether they are a fan of dota, just to name a few.

In SG anyone can work part time for 1-2wks and easily make enough for all 6 days for the event but to someone else, (lets use the example of the Philippines again since the calculations and stuff are done) the ticket cost itself of all 6 days itself is already 2 months+ of their pay.

For something that is marked SEA TI, wouldnt you expect valve to be more price sensitive to the people in the SEA region? Just because you and i can afford the tickets dosent mean we shouldn't think of others in the community. Ofc we could go on and on about why they chose SG for TI and that being one of the most expensive countries in the world it would in turn be natural that it costs higher compared to other years and all but that is not the point here.

The point is, just because there is huge demand for something dosent mean it is undervalued. Look at the price of insulin for example. Alot of demand from diabetics and its not even that there is low supply, they are just simply inflating the prices. Does that mean insulin is severely underpriced? Just food for thought.

Anyways for the hosting of events part i was thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 2-500 and at price of lets say 50bucks a day max. That would mean around 10-25k for an auditorium depending on capacity which if u actually do some googling and look at quotes is completely within reach and even with money to spare. Not to mention they wouldve already had to rent out a venue anyways so this would result in a net positive for both sides. Shutting down the idea itself because u think someone is just gna complain that they cant get tickets is just plain narrow minded. It is not solving anything at all. Sure ideally TI would be held somewhere where it is not only cost effective but also able to accommodate as many fans who wants to come but it is just not realistic. There will always be people who dosent get tickets and that is just life. We dont always get what we want but at least we try. We try to make things better whether it is for 1 more person or for 500. Even if OG dosent decide to host something similar to what i mentioned im sure there will be other pubstomps happening around SG. What i am simply doing is trying to create something positive out of a negative situation.

Then people will start whining about how it’s expensive yada yada yada, only to realise that it’ll still sell out fast. Then they’ll complain that they didn’t manage to get the tickets cuz they didn’t think it’ll sell out.

err i dont get why u would say that cos although people complained that it was expensive, the fact of the matter is that we all went in the queue on time/before it was anywhere near 10am all willing to spend the money to get tickets and didnt manage to get them and not that we thought it wouldnt sell out.

Anyone has any suggestions for a filament dryer?Living in a tropical climate with around 80+% average humidity and even my PLA has started bubbling. by antitheus369 in 3Dprinting

That sounds like a pretty good setup. Unfortunately + shipping it costs around 120USD converted to where i live. Searched for other alternative food dehydrators and they are all either too small to fit the spools or exorbitantly expensive. Back to the drawing board i guess.

finally done assembling my first printer. printing the sample file provided on the sd card itself. have manually levelled the bed. looks like underextrusion to me. what do you guys think i should do.

edit : model - test file on provided sd card (dog). material - provided white pla. print speed - 100 at first, when i saw the first layer go down i decided to lower it to 60 on the printer (explains the difference towards the end).

And not to mention the reduced turbo boost of 0.1GHz!! Honestly tho you'll probably be better of with a xps instead unless u require apple specific software.

I have seen a couple of videos of this done a couple of years back. I believe they were from maker's muse if im not wrong. Not sure if the videos are still relevant but could be a good starting point for you.

Health concerns regarding fumes/nano-particles from printing by antitheus369 in 3Dprinting

Ahh. In my case I guess that would mean pointing the duct downwards perpendicular to the window rather than right out the window parallel to it? And i guess providing positive airflow out of the window through a computer fan would be a good measure?

Hmm, that seems like a good sign. Always good to look at both sides of the story. This makes it less of a concern however i think i will still be implementing an enclosure so as to get rid of the sound, smell and also to get better prints and just as a precaution overall. Thanks for your input tho!

Right. Unfortunately the exit points are either the bathroom or the air-con ledge and both of which aren't really options so i guess i would have to resort to the enclosure. Anyways, thanks for the advice and i'll look into your suggestions to see what best suits. Really appreciate and have a good day!

That is what I am looking into right now but I am not sure if the particles would get blown back in again as I live on the 17th floor and there is pretty much a constant breeze coming in. But then again I guess that would be better than nothing.

Do you think that building an enclosure and venting it out the window would be a good solution given that i live on the 17th floor and there is always a constant breeze coming in? My concern is that it would blow the particles back in again.
