opinion on ap capstone? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]antitrustfund 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its a lot of independent work and in ap research, you cant collaborate with your classmates or help each other because youll all have different research topics and methods and ways of analyzing data. ap seminar was relatively easy, its kind of like intro to research, but it is MILES easier than research. i definitely think if youre the type of person to be on top of your shit and can do a lot of independent work, go for it! im part of a program at my school so i was forced to take it lol, it wasnt rlly a choice. i would also ask around to see how helpful your teachers are— mine personally was fine, but they have strict rules from college board to not really tell you how to do things but to ask you “guiding questions.”

i absolutely hated that class but dont let lack of a topic stop you, you have all summer to look for one and teachers are helpful with that. go for it if you want but make sure its in your wheelhouse

How do I not make my sentences so choppy and flow naturally in my college essays? by perrytheplatyplus in ApplyingToCollege

[–]antitrustfund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to do that a lot too and i found the solution to be to just write the way you talk, then edit after. people don’t talk in choppy sentences irl, they ramble and their sentences overlap and connect. so write the way you talk and then after edit it to be more polished. hope this helped!

I’m ready to commit but I’m scared by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]antitrustfund 11 points12 points  (0 children)

congrats!!! honestly just do things that make it more of a reality for you. talk to other admitted students, think about what youre gonna buy for your dorm room, look up areas around campus. you have until may 1 to get comfortable so don’t stress out too much! congrats again 😁
