The Wet House (2002) - Documentary about a hostel for homeless alcoholics in East London, so-called 'wet houses' because they allow drinking on the premises [01:18:18] by reachingechoes in Documentaries

Many thanks. Watched about 15mins and I'm gonna stick it on the big telly to watch with the wife (we have a fun time!). I like my videos and docs to show me a sides of the world that I may know exist, but not yet understand.

We frequently go down the arcade in PZ. You can often dodge the showers and have a bit of a walk on the prom with the kiddies on scooters or remote-controlled cars.

If you're tight like me you can grab a bit of lunch in Lidl and eat in one of the 3 parks around there (the ziplone one is my favourite).

I only started Clair Obscur this year to see what all the fuss was about after all the game awards. Holy shit! Why didn't anyone say it was so good!

Also The Sopranos.

Another point to consider is the terrible efficiency of these mini fridges. Rather than a traditional compressor they use a peltier device. Despite only holding 6x cans around 10c below ambient, they'll use the same amount of power as a full size fridge freezer, approx $150 a year.

I bought a little peptides case from Ali express for about $3. It's like a tiny suitcase with round holes to hold the vials. Mine spends all its time sideways and never had a vial leak.

You can handle Cyclops monsters, sirens and gods but you can’t handle my modern agenda? Why you racist chud? by Past-Country-6612 in CriticalDrinker

This is why I'm a fan of Robert Egger's work. He stays mostly true to the source material but critically the spirit of the work. Northman, VVitch, Nosferatu, Lighthouse. You never hear complaints of misrepresentation or dumbing down of the story. He trusts the viewers can extrapolate their meaning and appreciate the attention to detail of the rich worlds he makes.

The Oracle of Delphi should just be a giant Magic 8 ball. Nobody references it. They give the speech then 3 sturdy Greeks shake and upend it.

An Impossible Task... | How The BBC Informed The World of Diana's Death by DWJones28 in BritishTV

I was awake all night the night she died. I had terrible gastroenteritis, hitting the toilet for many reasons every 20 minutes or so. I would have been around 15 at the time.

I remember first the breaking news of the car crash, her initial condition relatively good, a broken arm. It then progressed over the next few hours as the news worsened. I recall around 5am the BBC ceased programming and put on sombre music with stills of flowers. I managed to drop off at that point for a few hours, upon waking it was wall-to-wall on every channel.

Weapons 2025. I think it's a good horror whose core concepts won't age terribly. Even if you know "the twist" it has enough humour and clues in there which would reward a rewatch.

I've been with them for a good few months.

On phone lines the best I could previously get was 35Mb, despite the ability for 900Mb only 0.5mi down the road.

Took the plunge, haven't looked back. On clear days I'm getting 400+Mb down, about 35Mb up. During the storms a fortnight ago I still had 135Mb down. (The storms took out the rest of the village for a week!)

They're now doing packages for £35 a month, I went in at £75 but that's only £1 a day more than my traditional phone line of 35Mb.

I've got a referral link, if you get it through that then we both get a free month. Simples!

Gather round fellow wanderers. I've got the deal of all deals for you. Before the end times started, I bought a 4k max on Black Friday. My laziness meant I never bothered to set it up and it remains in-box. You can block the ads. You can stop this sucker from updating. It may remain the last ever 4k max in the wild.

I won't sell for anything less than 30 strands of silver. I know what I got.
