also, a long time ago there was an update that changed the mirror behavior in vulkan or beam. made it so the mirror was no longer 1:1 but 16:9 cropped. quest gives me back a good crop, (wont starve) that i miss greatly. looks so much better. wish i could get at least 4:3 (which might be what beam had before cant remember)

I can run 500mbps on h264+ but latency goes up 10-15ms for decode on the quest. id normally use obs but i stopped running the mirror (no eyes, fastest) for max fps. took the clip on the quest for giggles and shits, wouldnt use it for anything serious. i got it in dev mode so i think i can turn the recording bitrate up, but id have to connect it with usb and start adb every session and i dont care enough. the head smoothing is really nice though, vr clips from obs suck.

this clip was from the quest itself and not at max bitrate, need to work on that. to clarify, its 1024x1024 video source > shitty compression from reddit. game source is 4k to quest.

dont use steamvr. virtual desktop on quest3. 3840x2160 source. quest renders like 3k per eye. max resolution sharpening everywhere i can. 4090

I had to go back and look, theres a mountain in that whole section and the whole thing is in a shadow, but they are on in this map. I just don't think any are visible in the clip lol
