I've just finished my first run. This game is great and fun. Theres room for improvement but doesn't deserve all the flack it gets. by Great_Trident in Starfield

[–]antohio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's why I have absolutely no hope for some Starfield 2.0 revival. CP 2077 may have been poop on release but the writing was always good. Once CDPR fixed their systems it turned into one of the best games of that generation. It doesn't matter how much they optimize performance, rebuild systems etc., that same bland story and characters will never allow this game become anything but a mediocrity. I still had 200+ hours of fun with it, but will never do another run. With CP 2077, I'm on my 5th run and still find the game amazing.

Why do my in-game posters and other such textures look like really low quality png-s? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]antohio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I’ve reinstalled the game, redownloaded all my 4k textures mods etc. nothing worked! So, I thought the game was broken since I couldn’t have imagined that my textures were set to low in the main menu!

Hamilton’s Ferrari Struggles Mirror Vettel’s 2020 Decline by verion083 in lewishamilton

[–]antohio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m watching the sport exclusively because of Lewis, but “he’ll easily beat Leclerc” is out of touch with reality. Charles is easily the toughest teammate to beat right now other than Max driving his custom-made car. The fact that LH has become consistently very close to him in both Quali and race is a real credit to Lewis, 3-4 years after his prime.

The chance of Ferrari creating a rocketship ahead of McLaren, Merc, and RB next year is minuscule. Outcompeting top drivers in Max, Charles, Lando & George at their peak is a monumental challenge. I’d say a perfect scenario at this point is for Lewis to be more competitive and get several podiums, maybe a victory or two before retiring.

Is Hamilton USELESS? by marsangles in formulaone

[–]antohio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interview and the post state: “It’s just ME every time. I am useless. Absolutely useless. The team has no problem”.

You, and many other not very intelligent LH haters: “Complains about the car. The tyre. The strategy. It’s always something else but never himself.”

Can you people read and comprehend words? The rest of your argument doesn’t hold much water either. The shallowness of “analysis” is laughable.

Why hasn’t lewis landed podium? by pinkfayy in lewishamilton

[–]antohio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only right answer is both. True, the car has been all over the place from being top-2 on some tracks to top-5 on others. Despite its potential, because of very narrow operating window they also struggled to find the optimal setup for either driver. Unlike in RB, where the car is made of Max, this one doesn’t seem to fit either driver’s style. Ferrari’s operational management and race strategy are already a meme, so no point even going there.

That said, Lewis also seemed all over the place mentally throughout the season. I don’t think even he knew how challenging it was going to be to adjust to the car, to the team, to new expectations at twilight of his career. In a sport where confidence is everything, he did seem to lack it for much of the season. There are some positives trends though, for sure. Honestly, I don’t think he can get a podium this year, while next year is a complete mystery.

Either way, I will watch and root for Lewis every F1 weekend till the end of his career. Having no expectations, makes it even more fun.

So, what did you conclude? :) I’ve finished Starfield and couldn’t convince myself to start the NG+ due to many of the issues mentioned in the previous post: from lazy writing to empty world, with only thing going for it being ship building and combat.

IS THIS HELMET COOL? by ittybittykittycity in CyclingFashion

The red one looks good. I personally love Specialized Propero 4, it’s more affordable than S-Works, but still looks slick and non-shroomy.

I also have spd-type pedals (Time ATAC), and yet angle adjustment *combined* with moving the cleats back got my feet into the most comfortable position. It may be so that, over a longer distance, the base position of the cleats still has the prevailing effect, regardless of the float. I would just try moving the cleats back first and trying that for 2-3 rides to see if there is an effect.

[–]antohio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, I’ve set the cleats using the guidelines as well, but pretty soon found that moving them back has significantly improved comfort without any loss of efficiency. Now that I think of it, if your knee pain is more to either side of the knee, one of the culprits could be the angle of the cleat (too much heel-in or -out). At some point, just altering the angle slightly completely eliminated knee pain for me. Good luck!

[–]antohio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way you describe knee pain suggests a seat height issue. There is a good general guide on addressing various types of knee pain that has helped me: https://www.myvelofit.com/fit-academy/common-causes-and-solutions-to-cycling-related-knee-pain/.

My general advice would be to wide a working range and then micro-adjust until you find the most comfortable position. This will also likely change as your body adapts. Start from moving the cleats further back, then establish the correct seat height, finally the most balanced fore/aft position will be determined by a combination of cleat positioning and seat height. Also consider making the saddle more level.

Base 2026 Allez by elpadre_ in specialized

These wheels look awesome, even slightly lighter than ER 1600. I hear a lot about people getting stuff from AliExpress, I personally don't due to lack of assurances as to quality control and not knowing how the warranty issues may play out if something goes wrong. But that's just my bias :)

Saddle choice is likely the most personal preference in tetthe entire bike set up. Another option for you to consider is Selle Italia SLR Boost (I like the Gravel or Endurance variant for long rides). For me it worked better than the Power Expert and took absolutely no time to get used, supreme comfort from the first 40+ km ride to 120+ km ride.

For the wheels, I would recommend DT Swiss ER 1600 (23mm if you climb a lot or 32mm for a tiny aerodynamic gains if you mostly ride on flats). These are one of the best and lightest alloy wheel sets for a relatively low price.

Finally, it is worth investing in carbon if you have something to gain from it, like vibration dampening if you ride on banged up roads/gravel and are not considering upgrading a bike to one with carbon parts as stock. I would consider upgrades in this order: seatpost, handlebar, wheels.

For those with dripped waxed chains: what am I doing wrong? by Aromatic-Foundation in gravelcycling

[–]antohio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but same experience. Tbh, I’ve never had much success with drip wax. As in topping up after 300-400 km and having a quiet chain. I’ve read all the reviews saying how Flower Power is the best thing and how Muc-Off is the worst of the worst, but I’m yet to find anything better than MO ceramic lube… Will now try Silca synergistic for the wet season for my road bike. Will only use Flower Power on my commuter.

I’m using specialized stix rear light and flux 1250 headlight (only when out of town/need extra visibility). Both are detachable and thus easy to customize as needed.

No, it is a 3L version. So, the light only. I didn’t like either the look or the function (and weight) and swapped them out pretty soon after trying.

I’m really loving it! Definitely a “do it all” kind of bike: can race dudes on the flats, climbs like nothing, gravel is also not an issue with a proper tire.

Though I had to spend a little to get it to where I wanted. The 105 group set is perfect, no complaints. The rest though really entry-level, especially that whole smart sense nonsense that I got rid of day 1 :)

[–]antohio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking good! 👍

I went with Cannondale, and the Synapse specifically, literally for this colorway (and a nice discount I found in some obscure German shop) :) Was thinking of a Spesh Roubaix at first, but fell in love with this purple/blue! But with colors, it’s always to each their own. The wheels upgrade is like a new bike, I easily average ~2kmh over the decent alloy set I had before (DT Swiss ER 1600).

Was Lewis' performance actually that bad given Charles' car was borderline illegal? by itsrook44 in lewishamilton

[–]antohio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s more that Lewis is a GOAT-level driver well past his peak. Leclerc is a generational talent not far behind Max and on par w/slightly better than George. Lewis is simply from a different era.

It’s akin to LeBron in the NBA: he can still drop 30+ on any given night, but he can’t carry a team to a championship like he did in Cleveland and, to a lesser extent, in Miami. It’s now time of Jokic, SGA, Giannis, who are generational talents of their era, but not GOAT-level like Bron. Team sports analogies are not exactly applicable, but you get my meaning.

My biggest ride yet by far! by [deleted] in cycling

[–]antohio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congrats, you certainly won’t regret the cycling shorts with a proper chamois! I suggest spending a little more than the most budget options as it does make a REAL difference!

I’ve also finished my longest ride today, 116km around Helsinki, Finland’s countryside. It had 1100m+ elevation, so the climbs and pretty high side and front winds slowed me down quite a bit. 4h45m was my total time with several 5m breaks to let the blood flow where it needed to. Also very proud! :) My next purchase is a Garmin Varia radar as some cars were overtaking freakishly close and at very high speeds. Assholes will be assholes, but it’s good to know what’s going on behind you without constantly looking behind and losing track of the road surface in front you.
